I thought those 80s style remixes were just fanmade! I'm pleasantly surprised to hear it playing right now on the New Music Friday playlist.

#144 on iTunes.

It placed #4 on this week Spotify NMF US playlist so hopefully it can take off further to top 10 or maybe even top 5 perhaps.
They are kinda fan made but this one got picked up!
that remix is such a generic example of 'turning a pop song into an 80's song with f*** all thought put into it', what a load of shite
That remix is amazing, it sounds like something from the late 80s which is excellent. I didn't think many artists made 80s style HI-NRG synthpop any more never mind there being a new song of this genre in the itunes chart in 2017 tbh :o

It’s a cute hit there but it’s not as massive as most other countries. America’s loss really. I can’t see it going top 15 sadly.

Here comes the smasha.

I think it could go top ten. It's a slow burner but it's endurance is impressive.

Agree with this, you've heard everything after 30 seconds. Next.

Isn't that the point of these 80's style remixes though? There's loads on Youtube especially for Justin B and Ariana!

Dua liked this one so much, she got it picked up and made into an official remix release.

That's true. However, as Jonjo mentioned above, Dua and/or her team contacted Initial Talk and they agree to release it officially. Personally, it's a win/win situation for them.
It would be hilarious if it's this basic 80's remix that helps New Rules take off even further in the US
