It was also fantastic to see Manchester City lose as well. Predictably the "it was our 2nd team" excuses have already started.

The last 16 is going to be brutal in terms of trying to avoid the toughest teams, at least one of the English teams will get Real Madrid I reckon. I think some people are sleeping on Real Madrid at the moment because they lost to Tottenham and finished 2nd in their group but they are still a very strong team and would be the team I would most want Man United to avoid.

I would not be surprised if Chelsea get PSG in the knockout stage again.

Real Madrid would love to be drawn against Mam Utd out of all the English teams they can get though. Where they seem to be struggling at the moment is against teams with pace that press high.

It's guaranteed that two teams will get a hard draw and two teams a more favourable draw.

Getting Sevilla is a decent draw for Man United so I'm quite satisfied with that. I can't wait to watch Real Madrid vs PSG! Chelsea vs Barcelona will be an interesting tie as well.

Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City got favourable draws. The away games will all be tough, but as long as you can avoid defeat then in theory your home game should be fairly comfortable.

Think Spurs probably got a tough draw and we're going to lose one of the heavy favourites in the last 16!

Champions League returns this week! Looking forward to watching Real Madrid vs PSG on Wednesday, hopefully it will be a match filled with goals for both sides. At least the Champions League isn't and can never be one-way traffic.

Spurs doing brilliantly well after being 2 down after 8 mins! A respectable draw with two away goals to take to Wembley!

It's a great result, I thought Juventus would beat them comfortably pre-game - seems I was wrong!

A great fightback yes from Tottenham to draw against Juventus.

An expected comfortable win for Man City over Basel.

It looks like PSG are heading out after losing 3-1 to Real Madrid. I had the feeling that it was too soon to start labelling them as Champions League favourites, it's all well and good to thrash Celtic twice in the group stage and win the group by scoring loads of goals but it's games like this against the likes of Madrid that will really test their credentials and I can't imagine Real Madrid not scoring in the 2nd leg in Paris. Cristiano Ronaldo didn't perform up to his normal standards but still managed to score twice albeit with a penalty included.
Nice vs Ajax is a tasty clash!

And a great incentive for Dundalk in Norway next week!

Nice or Ajax?

Looks like it was an interesting game between Chelsea and Barca in the last 16. Great chances for both teams, but I can't see Chelsea making it through after the second leg.

Barca's record is impeccable at the Nou Camp. I can't see Chelsea winning, but a score draw is certainly achievable - they have to score anyway.

Mourinho trying to sleep his way to another European final? Honestly the problem with that team is not the players, it's the manager.

Why did McTominay start ahead of Pogboom?

Nothing against the former hopefully he becomes a great local talent but Pogba surely is more experienced in a big game like that?

I think it's more the fact that Mourinho is playing his world famous mind games trying to make Pogba a better player. It's bizarre. If you look at where he plays best and excels it is as a third midfielder. I don't think he has the discipline in him to be what Mourinho wants from his consistently.

I didn't even watch last night. I knew it would be an overly defensive 0-0 try to score an away goal mess. Squad for that game was dire. Any game that has Darmian on the bloody bench or pitch isn't worth watching
It was a dull game to be honest but David De Gea's performance was superb as it normally is. I'm confident that we'll beat Sevilla in the 2nd leg at Old Trafford so I'm not too concerned by the goalless draw.

PSG over £200 million spent, well over £350 million if you include the creative accounting signing of Mbappe.

For their efforts they're going to get a ligue 1 trophy in a one team league.

Good riddance.

Liverpool are through to the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2009. A neutral would say it's good to see them back in the later stages.
Liverpool will almost certainly get knocked out in the next round. So will we most likely if we get past Sevilla in the 2nd leg next week.
