NOT Aaron Sidwell believing his character is iconic and mentioning Steven in the same breath as Nick and Den

"I think that Steven is an iconic character and the fact we had Nasty Nick, Dirty Den and now, as the audience have named him, Psycho Steven – that in itself, the fact he has a 'name' tells you what an iconic character he was."

It was never in doubt that Steven would be the one to die. All of the signs were there from the fact that he was the only person announced to be leaving, being the father of an unborn child (Dennis Rickman), banging his girlfriend's sister and getting her pregnant in the process, Jane mentioning about Ian not wanting another of his children to die, lying about a potentially fatal illness, and finally the Jamie Mitchell style "let's look ahead to a bright future as a couple" only to flatline a few seconds later.

It will probably be at the end of this year when the truth about Max & Jane comes out.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nah ffs

A sort of villain, yes, but no more than say we would see Abi as one . He's definitely not on Den or Nick's level that's for sure

Karen looks rough as guts and I find it hard to like her, although the subplot was very heartbreaking :(.

Abi starring at the monitor when it flatlined was a WTF? moment for me..... go get help and call the nurses, not stare at the monitor saying "Steven?" over and over!.

Fantastic episode anyway and no annoying red herrings. I also liked how each episode started, in which how the previous one ended is used to start off the next one, but from a different viewpoint; e.g. the gunshot being heard again, but instead we hear it again with the Taylors on screen, instead of the Coker imposters.

!!!

That is worse than a Neighbours stunt.

Seems like Aaron Sidwell is getting confused between a legend and what we call a legacy character. Steven being the son of Simon Wicks and Cindy Beale and their involvement in one of the show's biggest love triangles makes him a legacy character; it doesn't make him an icon in his own right though.

I think it's a shame they killed Steven off though. The death itself had next to no effect on me but I feel there was lots of potential with his character with the right team to write for him.

In all of this, Ian and Lauren will think Stephen died of a ruptured brain tumour, unless someone else spills the beans, they don't know the entire truth. I remember when they started the whole story with Lucy dying, that the family will go through an ongoing story of tragedy within their family, you can't really kill the whole family you eventually get found out, at some point they will have to bring Bobby back. I'm hoping this story finally resolves at the end of the year, as one major character will probably get killed off as usual.

For me I knew it was Stephen that was going to get killed off, and no else was in contention to be axed, but I wish he wasn't killed off, probably get found out that he lied, and would do a runner like Lee.

Steven dying is a bit disappointing. Why announce his departure and then tease a shock death that really isn't a shock? Jane surviving is surely a miracle, how many lives does this woman have? Surely she must have some sort of memory loss because the Max plot cannot end right now. I wonder who Abi will claim to be the father of her baby...
A gas explosion/shooting/cancer reveal/death/arson/miscarriage all in the same week

It only happens in EE

While the preceding year can be summed up simply with "bins" :')

Don't forget 'GCSE'.

and if the spoilers are right

Kush is set to have a heart attack

:drama:

On DS they're speculating Jane will feign memory loss and bide her time to expose Max. I quite like the idea of that rather than the cop out actual memory loss or months and months of threats between them both.

Either way, I highly doubt Max will be on the show past Christmas. He's turned full villain and they never last!

I think you're right. There's no way Max can redeem himself after he is exposed and just magically settle right back into Square life. His days are (hopefully) numbered.
Max was a pretty tired character before his break so I won't be surprised if he goes permanently. Lauren should too, the actress just phoned it in these days and the character is pretty repulsive. Abi is the only Branning I have time for now and I'm most interested it what happens for her going forward now than any other character.
