3. Bitch Better Have My Money

Average: 9.00
Turn up to Rihanna while the whole club fuckin' wasted: 13 beaches, blacksquare, Cremey, Ryan, Tyler (11) AdamAloud, Andrew, Jay, Jonjo (10)
Kamikaze, if you think that you gon' knock me off the top: HausofSZA (5) Riser (5.5)

In third place, we have 'Bitch Better Have My Money' aka HER BEST SONG EVER aka SONG OF LIFE. Released as the second single from R8 (before it was known as ANTI of course :') ), this failed to set the charts alight, although it fared better than quite a few others in this countdown, making the top 15 in the US and top 30 in the UK. It should've been an absolute smash, but sometimes the public just don't know a good thing when they hear one :')

Seriously cannot express how much love I have for this – it's her best song, her best video, her best performance (the iHeartRadio one), her best single artwork, literally the complete package. Thankfully lots of you seem to agree with me, look at al those beautiful 11s! This was actually only in SIXTH place until the last three votes (from 13 beaches, Tyler and Ryan, aka the forum saviours). The less said about Bal and Riser's scores the better . . .

Yeah I thought you'd be pleased about that!
Amazing top 2 but like it really should be KIB at #1

this this this

I also co sign to what Cremey said.

Alternative facts:

The rate is over the others no longer exist. Therefore it's #1 on this chart. Because it's #1 in my heart. xx

BBHMM

Anyway, finally time to reveal the top 2 . . .

2. Man Down

Average: 9.60
Tell the judge please gimme minimal: Atonement, HarryEzra, Josh!, Liam, Riser, SamJudd (11) 13 Beaches, AdamAloud, Andrew, danG, Davidson, Mack, Ryan (10)
Real sticky situation: blacksquare, Tyler (7)

Reggae Rih just misses out on being top of the flops with 'Man Down', which was the fifth single from her monster fifth album 'LOUD'. Around the time of its release, 'California King Bed' was still doing really well in the UK (for some reason...) which overshadowed this a bit I think, resulting in a peak of #54. It also peaked just inside the top 60 in the US, at #59.

I absolutely love the reggae vibe to this and her accent throughout the song is another highlight, definitely one of the best on 'LOUD'. It's always been a fan favourite, so it's not a surprise it's done well here. I hadn't expected it to do quite so well though!

1. Kiss It Better

Average: 9.69
Kiss it, kiss it better, baby: AdamAloud, Jay, Joe (11) all is vanity, Andrew, Atonement, Cremey, Jonjo, Josh!, Liam, Riser, Ryan, SamJudd (10)
Fuck yo pride: HarryEzra, HausofSZA, Tyler (8)

So that means that your number is the smash-that-should've-been, 'Kiss It Better'. Released as the second singe from 'ANTI', it didn't ever take off for some reason, resulting in lacklustre chart performances on both sides of the atlantic. I honestly do NOT understand how this wasn't a monster hit. Despite (slightly) preferring a couple of other songs in this countdown, this is definitely the one I think really should've smashed the most. I remember listening to 'ANTI' for the first time and thinking this would be absolutely HUGE... I still feel like it'll go down as a Rihanna classic, especially amongst fans, it's just a shame it didn't do better overall. It seems to be almost universally loved on here, so it's not too surprising to see it do so well on this. Despite having only half the number of 11s 'Man Down' received, the average was slightly higher due to so many other high scores.

Definitely a worthy winner!

JUST LOOK AT ALL THOSE SMASHES THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN :'(

f*** YO PRIDE AND THIS STICKY SITUATION.

I also gave 'Kiss It Better' my 11.

It is my all time favourite Rihanna song, just f***ing glorious.

Kiss It Better is my all time favourite Rihanna song. Spellbinding and captivating.

I still feel sour that it got sent to radio at a time where Work was still smashing, Too Good was also smashing and so was This is What We Came For. Not only that, but it was sent to radio at the same time as Needed Me which got a much better video and took off more.

Man Down and Love On The Brain were my perfect top 2 but both being top 5 and Man Down only 1 place below its rightful throne is solid!

Actually though all of that top 5 are f***ing fab and probably would have been my top 5 in a slightly different order, can't begrudge KIB as a winner ofc.

Amazing top 2 of course.

At least 'Man Down' was a smash in some European countries (including where I live) but 'Kiss It Better' flopping is such an injustice. I guess it was too mid-tempo or something? It was so frustrating it stalled on UK Spotify at #51 on like 3 different occasions.
