Tru, but I doubt every regular poster of the Darius and/or Will forums all had the exact same problem while regulars in other forums are fine. There were still hundreds

of other posters and barely any od them posted there.

Yes for Taylor !!!

Why we need Ariana and Dua (who is it ?) forums ?

because its about managing the site and only having forums that are generating discussion and having a substantial number of posts EACH WEEK so that the site is attracting visitors/new members/keeping members here which helps keep the forum alive and advertising can continue.

Exactly this. Being locked out isn't something you can apply to every U2 or Darius poster, the forums just weren't/aren't sustainable enough and Buzzjack needs to attract new members.

Put yourself in the shoes of a late teens/early 20s person who's considering signing up. What will they find most appealing - Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande, or Darius, U2 and Elvis? It's obvious, and in fact, I think they might be put off entirely by the latter.

And indeed, the demographic generally looking to join forums will be around that age, if they're exploring the net for somewhere to talk about music. We have plenty of Swift fans signing up already. Speaking generally again, older people will be more stuck in their ways and won't look for a new place to talk about their favourite artists, if they wanted to, they likely already have somewhere.

And AlexRange, our choice of forums doesn't revolve around the colour of their hair.

A modern day Buzzjacker not knowing who Dua Lipa is *_* before she had an AF I saw a Dua thread as the last posted 90% of the times I browse the main board. But it's AlexRange so :P

Firstly that nickname need to die, because it's not actual for last 3 or even 4 years.

"Colour of hair" joke is just a stereotype and also not true. :)

I don't follow the current charts very attentive, so can don't know some new acts.

Darius should be priority imo, I can't believe we still have a Darius forum in 2017.

There are a lot of users on the Darius forum who don't use the rest of Buzzjack though, and many of those posters end up using the rest of Buzzjack so the Darius forum acts as a gateway to it.

The Darius forum is part of what makes Buzzjack unique.

Why this sudden desire to get rid of forums anyway?

*cue TheSnake suddenly becoming a Will Young stan and campaigning to save his forum too

Whilst I liked Will Young back in the day and still think he has a good voice, the Will Young forum is nowhere near as iconic as the Darius one.

we dont need any crusty ass old people and their crusty ass old forums

No need for ageism!

It's not about having "iconic" forums. It's about the site staying relevant and relatively up to date with all things music (and entertainment). As an outsider, seeing that we had forums by the likes of those that we had and had very little amount of posts in them, would suggest that we aren't really up to date and new members may be put off otherwise!

Tyler mentioned to the Britney mods a while back that a few of his friends from other Britney fansites etc... thought we never used the forum anymore because the news part was never updated. (So then I did a big piece on why I think 2016 was the revival of the Britney we know and love as a performer)

Can't the Darius, Will Young stans etc. just set up their own forum if they're that bothered about it? They could all migrate over there and start their own community, rather than forever being a small part of Buzzjack.

The Darius forum is getting a lot of posts now though. We have started an off topic thread too so as well as being a Darius forum it is a small community in itself.

As I said the Darius forum is a gateway to the rest of Buzzjack. Baytree for example posts a lot in other areas of Buzzjack.

You can't just ake a few joke posts in Darius and save it because it's "quirky"... There's a pop forum, there's a retro forum, I on't think we should be like "outcast them from Buzzjack" but we can't keep AFs from a few joke posts and the fact they are "quirky".

But now its busy again the Darius forum is serving a useful purpose. It has a decent pool of users who just use it and not the rest of Buzzjack...yet anyway as they may cross over like Baytree has.

Darius being an artist who predominantly now uses acting in musicals to display his singing vocals now is also unique to the artist forums. The musicals aspect could mean there is a crossover to other areas of Buzzjack from posters there such as the entertainment forums. I have proposed the starting of a Darius forum twitter page too, which will hopefully attract a few more members there.

The only reasom it is busy is because everyone and their mother was discussing the possibility of ot being axed.

Jonathan Groff AF tbh.

To be honest Darius had fallen far from relevance by the time Buzzjack even began. It was voted for and sustained by the community from the Darius forum back on CoolClarity. For years the excuse for not getting rid of it was that it was busy. It no longer is despite attempts to keep it. No one browses Buzzjack and thinks 'oh a Darius forum, how quirky, I'm going to register...'
