Posted August 21, 20177 yr By Rob Copsey Kelis is one of pop's greatest chameleons. 18 years after she arrived on the scene shouting her mouth off on Caught Out There, the singer has made her mark on hip-hop, electro, R&B, house and funky soul with relative ease - and often ahead of the curve of her peers. With 16 Top 40 hits on the Official Singles Chart to her name, we've crunched the numbers to reveal her biggest tracks to date. MORE: View Kelis's full Official Chart history Finest Dreams An often forgotten gem in her singles catalogue, the electro-throbbing Finest Dreams was helmed by British producer Richard X (Sugababes' Freak Like Me, Rachel Stevens' Some Girls) and is a mash-up based on a instrumental remix of The Human League track The Things That Dreams Are Made Of. ADVERTISING The track, released in August 2003, gave Kelis her second Top 10 hit and first since her 2000 debut Caught Out There. It finishes 13th on her all-time Top 20 with 42,000 sales. Not In Love "Are you ready?" Enrique asked Kelis in their 2004 hook-up. "Born ready" was, of course, her reply. Not In Love saw Kelis take on Latin pop with the world's ultimate Spanish serenader with impressive results, topping out at Number 5 on the Official Chart. With 112,000 sales, it places as Kelis's ninth best-seller in the UK. Got Your Money Before her debut single proper Caught Out There, Kelis guested on Got Your Money by hip-hop heavyweight Ol' Dirty bast*rd. It was helmed by the Pharrell-fronted Neptunes, who would go on to work with her for the next few years, including production on her debut album Kaleidoscope, which features some of her biggest hits. More on that shortly... Acapella In 2010, after a three year break from music, Kelis re-emerged as an icy electro queen on Acapella, a still-sublime slice of club pop with a near-hymnal chorus. Produced by will.i.am before he was the go-to hitmaker, the track is a dedication to then baby son, Knight. Acapella places as Kelis's third best-seller in the UK with 262,000 sales. Milkshake The blaring synth-funk tones of Milkshake still ring out at clubs across the world today. Helmed by The Neptunes, the track's inventive production and Kelis's vocal performance were groundbreaking at the time and turned all parties involved into household names. As things stand, it's her second biggest selling single, on 338,000 sales. As for what one's milkshake actually is, Kelis once explained: "A milkshake is the thing that makes women special. It's what gives us our confidence and what makes us exciting." Bounce Kelis's best-selling single in the UK is also her most recent appearance on the Official Singles Chart. Off the back of her successful turn to dance music on Acapella, Kelis was enlisted on Bounce, the lead single from Calvin Harris's third album 18 months. The track peaked at Number 2 earned Kelis her 10th Top 10 single in the UK. With 550,000 sales to its name, Bounce is the singer's best-seller to date. It's also her most streamed, with 9.6 million plays. Check out the full Top 20 below. August 21, 20177 yr Bounce :D My personal favourite from Kelis, good to see it at #1 here although it really should be Milkshake - that felt a lot bigger.
August 21, 20177 yr Bounce :D My personal favourite from Kelis, good to see it at #1 here although it really should be Milkshake - that felt a lot bigger. To be fair, 2004 was right in the middle of rubbish sales. I'd say it is her biggest hit, one of the most requested old school tracks I've had when DJing - they always go nuts when it comes on!
August 21, 20177 yr 'Trick Me' is my personal fave! Same! I remember thinking it was no Milkshake and then within a few listens, I loved it! One of the sounds to Summer 2004 for sure.
August 21, 20177 yr Same! I remember thinking it was no Milkshake and then within a few listens, I loved it! One of the sounds to Summer 2004 for sure. "Freedom to you has always been who ever landed on your dick" is one of my favourite lyrics ever.
August 21, 20177 yr Songs 2-6 are flawless and Lil Star is fantastic! Such a talent and seemed to do it her way without overkill. I always remember Milkshake and Trick Me seemed to be at no2 for over a month!
August 21, 20177 yr Lil Star, I always forget about that one. That was such a fluke hit, sounded nothing like anything else she put out. Great tune though. Felt like it stuck around UK radio and music channels for ages that year.
August 22, 20177 yr Wow, I never knew she had even had 20 hits! I like Acapella and Bossy and Spaceship. Not In Love is really good too, I had forgotten it was her on it
August 22, 20177 yr 'Trick Me' is my personal fave! Yeah, same! She has so much goodness, I love her.
August 23, 20177 yr Kelis is so underrated. The level of success she had in 2004 is what she should have had throughout her career. Fleshtone, in particular, deserved so much more.
August 23, 20177 yr Let's not pretend that Finest Dreams and Trick Me aren't easily the best things she's ever done! 4th of July and Caught Out There also remain BOPS!
August 23, 20177 yr '4th of July' is (and always has been) incredible  - 'Acapella', 'Trick Me' and 'Bounce' are so good. Shame 'Brave' never really took off. :(
August 23, 20177 yr That top 5 is very strong. Love all of them. Acapella is still such a tune!
