You know if y'all had just done the FAIR thing and included him in the chart anyway, none of this discussion would have happened??

If it moves, it NEEDS a subforum. The subform could be where ALL old fanforums go too. That way everyone can still have a forum, albeit shared, in a corner of Retro Lounge, and Dariuses can still have photo threads, etc.

That IKONEK fanfic though :cheesebloc:

NOBODY else who's been axed has got a subforum. Why should someone who last released in 2004 be an exception? Fans of every other artists make do with just a thread for each single or album or event, so Darius fans can too.
Darius needs f*** all but a thread if that and you all know it. This wanting to keep the forum for a joke is actually insulting to Darius.
Please can this is dropped, this is meant to be The Poster's Chart isn't it?

I think when Elvis moved to the 'retro' forum it has been a good move.

To think that Darius would become the main topic in an Poster's Chart in 2017......

As long as Baytree, eden, SpamFritter, Julia. W and polly (who are the long term users who use it at the minute) will be happy with whatever future is decided for the Darius Forum then I will be happy. I really think a Darius subforum on the Retro Lounge as Michael said would be an excellent compromise.

I don't see why lots of us suddenly want to get rid of a forum on the artist forum without wanting to replace it with anything. It is quite negative and destructive.

Anyway you are right Mack we have talked enough about the Darius forum on this thread!

Edited by The Hissmobile

There are ideas to replace it, there's been a LOT of discussion behind the scenes about what to do with AFs which is why we now have new ones. There's been such a drive among us all to make the best use of AFs, including new activities for th existing ones as well as new AFs. But of course all people think is that we spend all day thinking of how to destroy a Darius forum. It's pretty much an insult to the work we've done to assume that and moan and whinge because one forum might go and you like to keep it for a "joke". Notice that not a single AF mod has said to keep Darius (apart from their own ofc), without sounding too big headed among us all we know what we are doing

I can't even at all of this. Especially when it's people who don't even care about the artist and then you've got mods who should know f***ing better encouraging distructive behaviour that makes the forum look like a joke.

Get. A. f***ing. Grip

That's what I'm saying. EVEERYONE axed would get their threads moved to the Retro Artist subforum - the same subforum for all of them. It would keep community spirit yet also be a compromise.

Also, about no other fan forym getting a subforum when axed - see above point. And also!! No other forum on getting 600 posts in a week and the no.1 would be gettin axed!!

Look, we can see your point about getting new members ... remains to be seen if revitalising the fan forums will do this ... but then at least be OPEN to compromise. You can see why DanG thinks it is a vendetta when there is no flexibility.

and you like to keep it for a "joke".

Although my reasons I have campaigned to keep the Darius forum is because it is unique and different (not as a "joke") and also because it is has a long history on Buzzjack and it would be sad to see it go, I also worry as much if not more that getting rid of it will lead to the long time Darius Forum users leaving Buzzjack which would be sad, especially as they are older users and we don't have many from that demographic, plus its users can always cross over and use the rest of Buzzjack as Baytree has done recently. Hopefully though whatever future there is for the Darius forum won't mean the long time Darius forum users leave Buzzjack.

Your actions suggest otherwise.

That's a good idea actually (things like the Steps thread could be move there too) but a retro artist Subforum must be divided up someway between the different artists to stop it from being a mess.

If the posters chart on the whole is going to cause this much kerfuffle is it possible to just post each chart and lock the thread????

I have never thought the Darius forum was 'a joke forum'. That would be insulting to Darius. I have thought it adds something different and made sure our artist forum selection was not entirely like that you would find on any other pop forum.

Tbf its not usually like this and people actually do comment on the chart

The divide could be easily done, for example:

DARIUS - Photothread

STEPS - Greatest Hits

Etc

Just by capitalising the name of the act before the thread title

I think this would keep everyone happy - allowing for new artist forums but without losing traditonal members like Bayleaf.

On a chart discussion forum Snaerys, the charts are SUPPOSED to generate discussion!

This is hardly a discussion though is it? All I see normally is people accusing posters of spam and hardly anything decent worth reading.

Well, then, you can choose not to get involved with that discussion if it's not to your taste, but some of us like commenting on the postings chart.

Bayleaf  Its Baytree!

This Retro Artist subforum sounds like a really good idea Michael! It would being some much needed activity to the retro forum too while also giving a space on their for retro artists like Steps and Darius, which can all be on their own shared subforum rather than mixed with stuff about Top Of the Pops on BBC4 on the rest of the retro lounge which would be too much of a mess.

Thanks, Snake :D

Also it could mean that more than one thread could still be created for Darius, Steps, Elvis and other retro artists and so all discussion about these artists wouldn't have to be condensed into one big thread which can be a bit messy. Especially for Darius where the pictures of him could be kept separate in a gallery thread for easy reference rather than mixed with loads of other stuff about Darius.
