The below 87 songs were revealed in our opening ceremony, so let's get to the action! Split into two semis, with an auto qualifier for the hosting nation on home turf as they won last month, 23 songs from each semi final will advance after these 87 nations vote for their favourite songs. As it's such a big contest, the rules are scoring are slightly different from the usual semi spiel, but here's what you have to do...

 

1) Listen the songs below. There will be interactive listen through at some stage on plug.dj/buzzjack-listen-throughs, the info on that will be posted as and when so keep your eyes peeled if you want to listen along with others to supplement your own listens!

2) Vote IN YOUR OWN SEMI ONLY (only I vote in both), with the 18 point scoring system usually seen in the BJSC finals (18 for your favourite, 15 for your second favourite, 13 for your third favourite, then 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for the rest of your top 15 favourites))

3) PM your votes TO ME once you have decided your ranking.

4) You have until Saturday 4th November 23:59 (British time) to vote, a whole 9 days, so no excuses :kink: We extended the deadline because there is a lot to listen to, and so you have plenty time to make up your minds!

5) Once you've voted, your nation's name in the list will turn RED.

I think Lotti is hosting semi 1 she did offer to host her semi, then Ill probably do semi 2, tbh I think it should be up to whoever hosts and whoever can make it can make it. There can always be more than one if people can't make it :P

 

I can only really do Monday or Thursday of next week, it's probably up to Lotti if she still wants to host semi 1 but Tuesday is Halloween (and I am pretty sure she is working then), I'm just thinking a lot of us are students and will probably be out or have plans! Weekends clash with X Factor which a lot of people watch on here. I think Monday and Thursday? For me personally my housemate's birthday is Wednesday so we'll do something for that and then I'm out that Friday and my friends are over that weekend so we'll probably do stuff Saturday hence the deadline. Wednesday may work for others so someone else can host instead of me if need be but given I'm hosting I'd like to host and be there if I can, plus Wednesday is Apprentice anyway which also is popular on here.

Exactly! Most people are not so ignorant as to only vote one genre, listening through this as I wrote up the ceremony thing I liked all sorts of songs, I normally SEND pop because tha's just what I tend to find for myself but I've given high points to dancey songs a lot, some rock, for most genres there'll be something that grabs me now and again even if I don't count it as one of my favourite genres.
