I'm glad someone asked about this. I've always wondered about it myself. I believe he's telling the truth...and perhaps nothing was ever officially said. But I feel there must have been some unspoken lines drawn in 1998, though. The group...along with Mel B, Mel C, Emma, and Victoria as solo artists...all worked with Biff. None ever released any material with Absolute (I use the word "released"...because I *believe* Emma did record one unreleased track with them during the Life in Mono era). Then, a substantial part of Geri's career is produced with Absolute...and she never worked with Biff as a solo artist. There's got to be *something* to that.

Also interesting to hear Biff's favorite Forever song is Let Love Lead the Way...and he was really impressed by it when hearing it for the first time. I've always felt the girls like that one better than the fanbase generally does. Interesting to know Biff's on the same page with them.

You know what I find interesting there? Is that after Geri left, it would have probably made more sense for Geri to work with Biff - pop, disco stuff - than Absolute - r'n'b, slick stuff - and the Spice Girls to work with Absolute since they were wanting to go more R'nB. Always thought that was kind of odd...

And even if there wasn't an agreement in place about that division, it probably just happened naturally anyway when Absolute started to work with Geri.

Didn't Emma believe it was only an album track until the last tour?

This is Emma who got annoyed at fans for telling her that Stop was on Spiceworld and not Spice....

What is that!?!?

It's this work-out app that those a lot of specific music playlists, https://www.onepeloton.com/, so they will probably release a Spice related work-out or playlist. Nothing too exciting, unfortunately.

It's more than that. There will be a series of work out classes all week featuring the girls music.

So think riding an exercise bike that has a screen and an instructor on that screen doing a spinning class with spice girls music live while thousands of others do the same. A virtual workout class.

There is yoga classes, cycling etc. It's great cross promotion as it will have a lot of people working out to the spice girls for a week and obviously getting the songs in their heads.

A large demographic of Peloton is 30 something women who have money, who might buy a concert ticket too.

Excellent live arrangement for Spice Up Your Life and their vocals are good (apart from their solo bits lol) but this is iconique  They are really feeling it and having fun whilst serving!

True popstars :cheer:

What a fabulous performance, so much energy  I don’t recall having watched it before :o A pity they didn’t have more opportunities in the 90s to perform live on TV!

This isn’t particularly related to the 25th anniversary so I’ll put it here... Melanie C has said that Victoria “would love to do Glastonbury”:

The only good thing about them doing Glastonbury is the professional filmed for TV aspect.

Otherwise I think their own tour will always be better.

Doing Glastonbury (if done right and well) would be another Olympics moment. It would help seal them as legends, hugely boost their discography and make people crave tour dates.

The Olympics was the big turning point for them taking them from a bit uncool to icons and bucket list live act.

If they did Glastonbury there is no way they wouldnt do tour dates leading up to it or around it any way. If you are going to sort a 1h 30m set you might as well the extra 30 minutes and turn it into a lucrative tour.

What do you mean by 'boost' their discography? Do you mean strictly sales? (To me, boosting a discography means adding more published work to what already exists, and aside from an album of unreleased tracks, I don't see that happening).

Let's be honest, they don't have much of a discography to boost. They have 13 singles and 19 album tracks. It's not like they have a ton of forgotten hit singles they can remind the general public of like Madonna or Janet Jackson.

which is why they should definitely release new music :yahoo:

This is why Geri leaving ruined them. With 3 to 5 albums, they would be legends :(

They have 3 albums and they are music legends

By "boost their discography" I'm sure Sammy meant more streams & sales for the songs they performed. No doubt it would send the Greatest Hits back into the chart (+ maybe even studio albums).

When you think about it, they haven't performed on UK television since 2012 (the Olympics - Wannabe/Spice Up Your Life). A Glastonbury set airing on TV would be the first time in an extremely long time that the majority of their catalogue is exposed to millions of viewers. In theory, Glastonbury would be more effective for the charts than touring is!

As Posh would say, "Exactly!"

It's all about streaming numbers. In order to boost your streaming you have to release new music. Look at what Melanie C's last album did for her streaming numbers. Hence, this is probably why Universal was able to convince the girls to release demos from the archives. Otherwise, they would just release a new album instead. It doesn't seem like we will ever get that 4th studio album, which is a real shame.
