I understand the white wearing jokes but think saying she was full of shit wasn't that amusing. I'm sure Geris had to put up with those kind of comments a lot and she didn't need it from a friend aswell. My opinion, I think she took that too far joke or no joke.

It's a very common expression/joke, don't take it too seriously. Clearly they dont.

Yes as a banter between friends in passing.

Specifically saying it on TV doesn't seem that funny to me. Seems more of a humiliation same as the Piers Morgan interview.

I find more humiliating as a queer and POC person (as Mel B is as well) that her friend is obsessed and in love with an institution that has centuries of history of discrimination. I find it humiliating considering the woman we’re talking about can wear expensive white dresses because us - queer and POC people - bought her records, merchandise, and tickets.

Let’s not be blind fans, please.

Also, Mel B has always been this way. She picked Geri because she’s relevant for her. Otherwise, she would have used a more interesting name.

Oooh that tea is HOT!!! Well said.

I find the people pointing out the white clothing thing in public really uncomfortable or maybe it's embarrassment. Like us chatting about it on a forum is fine as we love Geri and deep down it comes from a good place, same with Mel B too towards Geri I'm sure. However it opens Geri up to outsiders picking up on it and ridiculing her which can't be nice.

Like I'd say ffs Geri wear some colour on here but I'd never tweet it.

I agree with you. We’re fans, we bought their music, merchandise, solo music, and concert tickets. We can say what we think in a respectful way, even when there’s something sensitive like politics involved.

By the way, I can’t with Mel B. She’s my spirit animal 😂

“Victoria has a crazy sense of humour, so she’d be Sarky Spice, as in sarcastic,” Mel offered. “Baby Spice is actually quite a raunchy, sassy-pants, so she’d definitely be Lustful Spice. Melanie is a perfectionist, so it’s Perfect Spice.”

It then came time to rename Ginger Spice, with Mel questioning: “Geri, where do I start?”

Sassy-pants. I can’t breathe 😂

Mel B. She’s my spirit animal

Same!

It's so refreshing to have that person who just calls things out for what or who they really are. Over their 25+ years, Mel B and Emma have been the most TeamSpice, so when either of them makes a jab at another member like this, I always feel like the one they are jabbing has stalled certain SG-related projects. It's funny in a way, because, if Ginger didn't snap in 1998, we would have had a solid third record, and we wouldn't be here, 20 years on, clinging to any shred of hope that they'll release SOMETHING vaulted from 1998/1999 because we don't even need to hear those songs to know that they are better than 90% of Forever. #SueMe

They were lucky Headlines was released when streaming wasn’t a thing like now. A #11 is still impressive.

Pity the song wasn’t that good. That would have been the perfect time to release NGUOTGT and take it back to pre-Geri leaving.

Worst moments of the song or related:

1. The cheesy intro

2. Geri’s almost whispered vocals

3. Melanie C lyrics (Christ, every bell’s gonna ring WTF)

4. Victoria and Mel B outfits in the video for a Children’s in Need single

5. The song being a long whole redundant verse

6. Girls Aloud having released a bop like SKO the year before and the Spice Girls coming back with a snoozefest.

Totally agree, it was so dissapointing. I would also say that Geri's outfit was awful and overall the lyrics were cringe as hell. When I first heard it, the intro sounded naff but sounded like Emma was opening a song that was about them coming together as a group. Then it turned into a soppy love song dripping with gushing lyrics and it just didnt click at all.

And then the video. What the hell. Why would anyone think that was at all a video that could represent the Spice Girls and that it was ok to release?

They were so disjointed still back then and it really showed. Now they feel more like a unit again, so I really do hope they can get their heads together again and write some new music with a newer sound!!

I agree. 2007 was their making up reunion. The two Mels hadn’t seen each other in a long time and were not really in speaking terms. Emma as always was probably the only one not complaining (even though, for the first time, she opened up about Geri being bossy in the past). I mean, in some ways, thanks to that reunion we’ve got all the other things, 2019 and 2012 events included.

As for the new music, I can see the Mels being ok with some cool uptempo stuff, same for Emma - she could bring her retro vibe. I don’t think Geri would feel comfortable though. She really gave up dancing. And I personally don’t want another Headlines 😂

Headlines holds up well and sits well on the Greatest Hits. I think its got beautiful lyrics that tell a lovely story and I also love how it connects to Wannabe. Also what a stunning instrumental, I listen to just the instrumental regularly.

Headlines is a moment for the fans and a celebration of what they achieved it was never going to be a huge hit as it wasn't designed to be, in saying that they should have performed it on Strictly instead of 2 Become 1 (I do understand why that was chosen) as it needed that extra push.

Yeah, Headlines isn't a great comeback single (or single at all really), but it makes sense in the context of the GH to be fair. Voodoo on the other hand...

For me, the live version of Headlines is the only version worth playing. I'll give them credit for breathing life into the live version of it!

The less said about Voodoo the better

I have always loved Headlines, indeed it wasn't the single that was going to set the charts on fire in 2007, but it fitted their story as a group and that particular moment in their career perfectly.

OK so I was trying to not do any work, so ended up watching Biff's insta stories where he has been answering fan questions for a long time!!

Lucky us, he DISHED on some Spice Girls facts and tid bits. Some of it is new, some of it is old news, some of it is just interesting bits and bobs.

I am trying to write here everything I remember:

- He thinks WOMAN will be released. He said 'of course' and that we should think about the current anniversary celebrations and the timeline, most probably meaning that it will come out as a demo in the Forever 25 years anniversary in FOUR YEARS (better than nothing :teresa: ) He is usually quite shy or blunt about these things so the fact that he was so certain, gives me good hope.

- He doesnt really get the hype from WOMAN, but alas...

- He has around 4 or 5 tracks from the Spice Girls that are unreleased, but he also mentioned that these were 'finished' so it might be that he has a few other very rough demos poping about in his studios. He also says that the decision to not include more songs in the Spice 25 CD was the girls' :manson:

- He says that C U Next Tuesday is FILTHY and that he loves it, it is a BOP  I would love to hear this one day!!! Since the girls will most probably block its release, I hope it leaks :P

- Viva Forever demo is somewhere and it was just a guitar and the girls' voices :o now THIS I'd love to hear (although he seemed to say that he didnt know where it was lol so most probably wont be included in the Spice World 25 celebrations!!!!).

- He says there are chances of a Viva Forever instrumental being released!

- He said 'never say never' with a smile and wink in his face about a 4th album, and also said that he is always having ideas for tracks with the girls but I wouldnt take much from it as he also said 'it needs to come from the girls themselves'.

- Never Be The Same Again is his favourite solo song. Emma's Maybe is his fav Emma song.

- Life back in 2003-2005 was crazy for him, so he doesnt really remember why Victoria's second album didnt come out

- He thinks Voodoo is really bad and is sorry to the fans that it was released  B-)

- He knew the Spice album was going to be brilliant because they are just brilliant. 'They are so good' that they would just bash bops out in a short space of time!!

- He remembers that the Headlines recording session was really hard cos some of the girls were in the UK and the other two were in America so the process was different and hard to complete, but he is proud of it anyway, specially live!

- He would love it if solo albums were included in the 25 years celebrations, but he doesnt know anything about that...

- He didnt see the Channel 4 documentary, not really interested as he wasnt involved and the girls werent involved either

He is sooooo cute, I'm developing a little crush

I'd say they are as close and in the best situation they could ever be now to record new music. They are actually working with UMG and have the Bravado deal. I actually think Biff is wrong and if it happens it won't come from the girls but from UMG throwing them an offer on the table. Something like 2 weeks of studio time booked, writers booked and UMG financing it and money on the table. Or something similar but to record a Christmas album with it all set up for them, studio time booked, 6 covers picked, writers booked 4 original Christmas songs created and recorded.

Left to them they just wouldn't book the studio time or align their diaries if left to themselves. They need a solid offer and direction sorted for them.

This next phase of Spice Girls has come about because of Universal, they were the ones who have sorted the releases and as it's gone on the girls have got more involved and it's spiraled and the tour has come from that. They need that push or conttact put in front of them or they just spend months/years discussing things but not driving it forward.

That's how 2019 came about, Wembley was put on the table and offered to them and it spiraled from there, more dates, deals, sponsorships but they didn't have a label involved and Modest were pretty rubbish so it never went as far as it could or should have gone.

You really think new music will turn out good if they are forced to do it? Look how Headlines and Voodoo turned out. They should only record new music if they have the ambition to do it. A forced Christmas album sounds like a lazy attempt at a cash grab. No thank you.
