Power to her for jumping on the collab but to get credit is taking it a wee bit too far - the fact she has a writing credit on it for changing one word (she to he) is disgusting!

Beyoncé is a smart business woman. Good for her. New artists need to make sure they get a writing credit because that’s where most of the money is.

I also think despacito changed credits,

the original version bieber-less had been charting on spotify for weeks, sure with enough streams to be at least top 200

Despacito changed credits, yes, but it certainly didn't make the top 100 before the Bieber remix (not sure about top 200, I'm sure someone can assist). There's a clear difference between Despacito and Perfect though. Perfect is a huge hit already. It has a music video and has had radio promotion in the UK in its original version. This is a remix released a significant period into its chart life, and sure, it's giving it a lift, but it's not the only reason it's a hit and it'd be unfair to credit the previous 800k odd sales to Beyoncé when she was nowhere near the track. Despacito, while it had a music video for the original version, received absolutely no push. In Latin American countries, it's a different story, but the Justin remix was always the single mix in the UK (it's why it was recorded in the first place, let's not forget - for the English speaking market). Despacito wasn't an existing hit here, it's more comparable to the likes of No More Sad Songs and Power for Little Mix even if it's not identical.

Well, he certainly doesn’t mind it because he’s been ridiculously complimentary of her in all the interviews I’ve seen. It’s a privilege for him to get to do a song with Beyoncé. She’s literally a living legend. Let’s put things into perspective here. Whether you like her or not really doesn’t make much a difference to her career or life.

Im sure he does mind...I have never seen an artist criticise Beyonce...i have heard songwriters though.

 

She is a living legend? No she isnt. Aretha, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney (to name a few) are without a doubt. I understand she has die hard fans but saying she is a legend over and over again does not make her one. A legend should eclipse all generations - i doubt my mother (aged 56) could name any song Beyonce has done post 2009.

I think the argument is this version is causing it to repeakj whereas most other exampled have given boosts but not repeak

We are just in a different era regarding consumption. It makes sense and really is the equivalent of what it was before.

i don't understand why there's even an argument as to whether Beyoncé should get credited or not...? did it happen with The Weeknd x Eminem? no. did it happen with J Balvin x Beyoncé? no. did it happen with Camila Cabello x Daddy Yankee? no.

 

regardless of whether the remix boosts the original or not, there's no reason why 'Perfect' should be an exception to the OCC's consistency

Nope, it didn't enter the chart (or at least the top 100) until the remix came out. The OCC just took a few weeks before deciding to update the credit on it (they changed it in the week leading up to it hitting #1 IIRC).
