December 5, 20178 yr You're focusing solely on this week though - what about the previous 29 weeks it's spent on the chart where the original proved itself to be popular? All of those sales would now be credited to Beyoncé too, which I find unfair considering it's a good 800k sales. It makes much more sense to keep the credit simply as 'Ed Sheeran'. Nobody is saying she should be credited retroactively, but she absolutely should be credited for this week's chart. They have done it many times in the past and I'm sure will do it many times in the future. If it's that big of a deal, make the original and remix chart separately. Because it's doing well enough to be #1 on its own.

Isn't this the woman whole basically steals writing credits, she cares. She hasn't added her vocals to the track for the hell of it she wants a hit. There is a reason she was on Eminem's new song too. The thing Beyonce has lacked in recent years is a big hit.
December 5, 20178 yr I think Beyonce's credit should be the least of our issues with the OCC since they're blatantly manipulating their own chart in front of our eyes with Accelerated Chart Ratio and limiting tracks. The former having caused us to have Number 1's that should never have been at the top of the chart and the latter ruining the prospect of future chart records being broken, they've already hindered Ed's record with Perfect as it would probably have had a non-stop chart run from entry if not for the limits. Anyway re the mids. I have a feeling U2 will miss out and I didn't think I'd be saying that!

Babe, do you think she's doing it for free? She gets major coin for it credit or not... If she wanted a """hit""" she'd easily go out and get one, but has instead gone through two entire album cycles without releasing a single traditionally, which would have given her at least a couple of easy top 3 hits.
December 5, 20178 yr yes Dido was not credited in Stan but there's many cases, Seal was not credited in Adamski's Killer, Sophie Ellis Bextor wasn't credited in Groovejet Aloe Blacc was not credited in Wake me up etc etc
