just hit the UK top 50 (without Christmas songs) on Spotify with zero promotion, so safe to assume this'll be big in the New Year? only been in the top 200 for three days too!!

This sounds like a mix of vocals from Dave and Not3s over a J Hus beat. Suffice to say, this should be a big hit early next year! The 2018 version of 'Addison Lee' with the appropriate chart success?

 

The instant success of this just shows the influence Afrobeat-rap from the UK has had this year. Songs like 'Addison Lee' and 'Did You See' have been trailblazers for this sound to truly crossover.

First listen I'm not that keen tbh - I like the laidback sound to it but it's so repetitive! Although I'm not surprised it's doing well - it's quite accessible and the song title is intriguing, even better it's about Barking in London :lol:

#4 on Spotify already and #9 in the midweeks! I would love for this to sneak a week or two at #1 here - I've told a lot of people IRL about it and nobody seems to have heard it yet so I imagine its momentum is going to continue growing over the coming weeks.

Not entirely sure how this is blowing up faster than so many similar songs by slightly more established artists but it is a tune anyway so glad to see. Does remind me a lot of 'Addison Lee' (but better imo).

This song by Ramz sounds very similar to "Unsigned" by Hardy Caprio & One Acen, I much prefer Unsigned to be honest and would rather have that getting the success that Barking is getting. I've not really got into this track yet.

I think its the success of J Hus and songs like Addison Lee and Unsigned that have allowed 'Barking' to blow up so much.
