bit off topic but how much do we think this could do in the New Year? i wouldn't be at all surprised if it was a huge hit tbh. opinions?

I reckon he'll finish high on the Sound of 2018 list so that would help, needs Spotify playlist support to really take off though

This is so early 00s R&B in terms of sound, when it was played on a local radio station recently that sometimes plays old tracks from the 00s, not knowing it that well, I even thought it was an old early 00s R&B song! :o

Oh that's maybe why i thought it was an early 00s R&B song at first when I heard it on the radio!

:o I suppose she would be boosted by maybe being #1 on streaming and itunes on Christmas Eve?

 

The streaming will be high today-Saturday and absolutely huge on Sunday - Monday (nearly 700-900k a day) so the low sales will be Tuesday-Wed-Thursday and even then it won't be 0!

Hopefully the streaming sites will have a focus on New Sounds in the next 2/3 weeks which help!

Yeh true the record companies have recognised his success and are building on it. But this song in particular hits people emotionally due to the lyrics imo!

Heart played it, then BBC Radio 1 on the chart show and then it got used on ITV I believe. It's gotten nice boosts and been climbing throughout the day. Hope to see it continue to rise right up until Christmas day now. Particularly on Xmas eve!

I have been living under a metaphorical rock and I don't think i have heard any songs by Tom Chaplin, nor how much about him, other than he is apparently popular in the adult contemporary circles these days.

Yeh he gets a lot of radio 2 support - I like seasonal songs so downloaded his 12 Tales of Christmas which is quite good especially the single he performed Midnight Mass - although the covers on the album including 2000 Miles and Stay Another Day are poor. The new tracks are very good!

You've probably heard of Keane though. Tom Chaplin was their lead singer.
