Still no new Coldplay single on radio 1 - have they dropped them for the first time in 20 years?

This era has been a total flop for them. I hope it hasn't damaged them for their next era.

Temporary changes at Radio 1...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnew...custom2=twitter

BBC Radio 1 has outlined changes to its schedule that will be made to ensure it can continue to keep audiences informed, educated, and entertained during the coronavirus crisis.

The changes will see the length of shows across Radio 1 daytime increase, meaning fewer presenters are required in the studio throughout the course of the day. For example, while a typical Monday would usually see five shows broadcast between 4am and 7pm (hosted by Adele Roberts, Greg James, Clara Amfo, Scott Mills and Nick Grimshaw), there will now only be four shows airing during that time. A small number of presenters will therefore rotate each week.

Implementing a simplified schedule means that audiences will still be able to hear their favourite DJs on the airwaves, while enabling staff and presenters to best protect themselves and others. Radio 1 will continue to broadcast to its millions of listeners over the coming weeks, offering a valuable source of news, education and much-needed entertainment for as long as possible in these times of uncertainty.

The new schedule will come into effect from Monday 30 March and will remain under review for the foreseeable future. Outside of these times the schedule remains unchanged.

Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Programmes at Radio 1, says: “In these testing times I’ve made the decision to simplify our schedule to ensure the health of our teams, presenters and the network itself. I’m very proud of how the Radio 1 teams have been able to continue to entertain and inform our audience under such difficult conditions, and we’ll be doing our best to carry on throughout the challenging weeks ahead.”

Radio 1’s Life Hacks and The Official Chart: First Look

I suspect it will be general music for an hour with the chart still starting at 4.

Just checked the Radio 1 schedule and you’re spot on! Looks like Scott will be doing an hour of his usual show before the chart at 4pm and the rest is still the same as usual.

Playlist predictions:

I’ve not had time to do this for a while but obviously got more time on my hands now:

• Surfaces - Sunday Best (Climbing the charts as well as being Scott’s Tune of the week this week)

• Dua Lipa - Break My Heart (Will probably share a spot on the A list with Physical)

• Powfu - Death Bed (I’m not sure about this, it’s climbing the chart but I think they’ll be funny about it’s title)

• Lil Mosey - Blueberry Faygo (Another one that’s climbing the chart and I can’t see them ignoring)

• Alan FitzPatrick - Haven’t You Heard ( Tune of the weekend last weekend normally means a playlist add)

• Lianne La Havas - Bittersweet ( Greg’s Tune of the week and he seemed to suggest that it would be playlisted)

• Waze and Odyseey - Always ( Maybe not this week but I think this will be playlisted before long)

• J Hus - Repeat (Grimmy had this as his Tune of the week last week and 1xtra have been playing this lots)

Anyone else got any other suggestions?

God that would be a really boring set of adds!

They could also add HAIM (assuming The Steps is an official single), Nothing But Thieves 'Is Everybody Going Crazy', maybe the new Hayley Williams, and fingers crossed The Killers 'Caution'.

Is Dua's next single 'Break My Heart' or 'Love Again'? I've seen both mentioned.

• Powfu - Death Bed (I’m not sure about this, it’s climbing the chart but I think they’ll be funny about it’s title)

If they took off 'To Die For' then there's absolutely no chance in hell that they're going to playlist a song called 'Death Bed' in the current climate.

I thought that but then I’ve seen that they’ve been playing it in the evening shows and as it doesn’t really mention the title in the song, I thought they might call it the new title it’s randomly now got - coffee for your head I think it is?

Dua's new single is 100% sure Break my Heart,

I think you mis-read about Love again, was just a fan saying it was a great song

what about Little Mix? Could they be insta-added?

theres also a new Kygo/Zara Larsson/Tyga aure the label will push hard for it too

Yeah I'd say there's a good chance Little Mix could be insta-added.

I suppose if they go with the changed title then they might, especially since it's on the verge of the Top 20.

Will the playlist meeting have went ahead this week?

I'd say it was done on video perhaps.

Physical is out and Break My Heart straight to A List.

Yep, they have playlisted it and they’re calling it by the alternative title of ‘coffee for your head’

Playlist predictions for tomorrow:

• Little Mix - Break Up Song

• Rina Sawayama - XS (I’ve seen that both of these have been added)

• Drake - Toosie Slide (Probably instant a-List)

• Alan Fitzpatrick - Haven’t you heard

• Lil Mosey - Blueberry Faygo

• Nathan Dawe - Flowers

• Gerry Cinnamon- Where we’re going

• Megan Thee Stallion - Savage

• Surfaces - Sunday Best
