It’s nice for Katherine to also comment and explain but from the general public’s perspective it was misinterpreted and quite rightly so, there wasn’t any needs for the comments he made and the actions subsequently.

Another video has come out on Twitter that apparently seems to show that the sexual banter was actually originally instigated by Katherine. slowthai absolutely still took the joke too far with personal space invasion etc. whatever happened and shouldn't be excused for that (as he's said himself in his apology) but this kind of puts the situation in a different light, it's not quite as bad as him just randomly creeping on her out of nowhere as the previous Twitter posts seemed to imply. I'm glad that he's taken responsibility for being in the wrong here anyway and declining his award was the right thing to do.

Yeh fair play for the apology, people do idiotic things sometimes!

Ooh they’re good points - I forgot about Niall admittedly and I didn’t realise that Christine’s was a proper single! :)

Fingers crossed for Christine to continue being supported but not sure if they'll go for this song as a large part of it is in French (I know her previous playlisted songs also had some French in them but not as much as on this song I'm sure).

Is Slowthai cancelled then? I like his music and plan to continue listening to it, and he has apologised profusely. He was a dickhead last night but second chances etc. Could he be yellow-carded rather than consigned to the dustbin of history? Time will tell. I just checked and Grimmy played Momentary Bliss tonight.

Yeh I agree, I mean J Hus is being supported again!

I'm biased because I want to see a perfectly suitable Gorillaz song on daytime Radio 1 in 2020 (I'm not trying to impose my 37-year-old music taste on young people but I love new tunes and this is the best radio source for them) and I know I've got my male privilage too but it doesn't seem like we should be completely throwing him and his career under the bus to die. I am fully prepared for people to disagree with me.

I feel like if they added it to their playlist this week it would almost seem like an endorsement of his actions though. If they're going to add it they should probably wait a bit.
