Hope Gorillaz make the playlist - they haven't had anything on there since Doncamatic in 2010! I know they are an old act now and Damon has been around for thirty years but R1 love Slowthai and like Slaves quite a bit too. The song is totally suitable for R1.

Yeah 'Momentary Bliss' seems perfect for R1, I hope they aren't going to ignore it just because they haven't playlisted Gorillaz for a while.
The features and the fact it's record of the week may me hopeful that it could be supported at daytime!
I have a good feeling about this. It's not like Radio 2 are going to playlist it and it's too exciting and anthemic to be left to 6 Music alone. Could get a good few weeks on the B-list. No chance of A-list, I've been following R1's behaviour long enough to strongly predict how it might pan out. Damon was on top form when it was Annie Mac's Hottest Record, although that accolade definitely isn't a guarantee of daytime support for older acts. Just ask Liam! Or Chaka Khan. Yes, that actually happened.

Yeh Annie still makes classic acts hottest Record that don't go on to be playlisted at daytime.

Radio 1 might stay away from slowthai entirely now. He sexually harassed Katherine Ryan at the NME Awards tonight, was called out on it from an audience member - who slowthai then tried to fight in the crowd.

He's always seemed like a bit of a twat so I can't say I'm surprised. Don't care much for his music either so hopefully this means I won't have to hear much more of it.
:x Well that's going to be a large yikes. Fair to say he is pretty clearly... not the brightest person but that's really inexcusable behaviour (and certainly one way to severely damage his public image and future career prospects overnight). Really disheartening news as I've been a big fan of his music. I hope we'll get a serious apology from him ASAP for this...

I can't at Taylor. Skipping the GRAMMYs and other awards shows but attending the NME awards qnd witnessing.. THAT... :')

Bye Slowthai. :puke:

I honestly give up.

This.

If this prevents Momentary Bliss from being added I will be pissed!
Considering the playlist meeting happens on Tuesday, the playlist tomorrow might have Gorillaz on it but then they might just ignore the song and remove it next week. I’ll be interested to hear what Grimmy does today considering that song is his Tune of the Week - will he talk lots about the song or sort of just play it and quickly move on.
They should replace his parts with another rapper's. FFS Slowthai!

Or just have it all with Isaac from Slaves - though it will be too late for that now. Gorillaz will probably release their next song from the project soon.

Luckily Radio 1 are big Tame Impala fans too, though I don't imagine that song will be as banging. Shame daytime R1 have ignored the past two Gorillaz albums, although they did seem to lack a massive-sounding lead single.
