Enjoy listening to Matt and Millie at the weekends. Be interesting to see if there is any truth to this.

Matt Edmondson and Mollie King are moving to host the 1.00 – 3.30pm afternoon show, Monday to Thursday on BBC Radio 1 from July.

Who will replace them in their current slot, Friday to Sunday afternoons will be announced soon. Mollie will continue to host Radio 1’s Future Pop at the new time of 8.00 – 10.00pm every Wednesday.

In other schedule changes, Katie Thistleton will join Vick Hope and Jamie Laing to co-host the new Going Home on Radio 1, 3.30 – 6.30pm Monday to Thursday, starting on Monday 4 March.

Dean McCullough will host Early Breakfast, 5.00 – 7.00am, Monday – Thursday which will move from London, to be broadcast live from Salford in July.

Arielle Free, who currently presents Early Breakfast, will remain at Radio 1 to host a new Dance Show on Thursdays at 8.00pm from the end of April.

Vicky Hawkesworth will join Nat O’Leary to present new shows 10.30am – 1.00pm, Friday – Sunday from July. They will be playing Anthems, 00s, and 10s over the extended weekend.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s, Danny Beard will host Katie Thistleton’s weekend shows from 8th March until Vicky and Nat’s new show begins in July.

Gutted that Matt & Mollie are moving to the lunchtime slot, as I probably won’t ever catch them now, but good for them!
Arielle Free seems to have fell out of favour with the bosses by the look of things. I imagine her antics last year haven’t helped.
I actually think for Arielle this is truly the direction she should be going in? She's a DJ and a producer when it comes down to the bottom line, a huge fan of dance music and has really done well in showcasing the Radio 1 Dance shows / covering for Danny Howard and Charlie Hedges. Dropping from Early Breakfast to present an evening dance show is a step up imo
I remember Arielle presenting on CITV when I was 11/12-ish, it's strange seeing her become a proper DJ/producer now!

Tinea Taylor is to host BBC Radio 1’s Friday early breakfast slot during March, as part of a monthly rotation.

Tinea joins Radio 1 from KISS FM where she hosted the Hype Charts and presented on their sister station, Kisstory.

During her time at KISS FM she presented and DJ’d at global events such as Wireless, V Fest, the MOBO Awards, MTV EMAs and Fashion Week.

I know it’s just the name of the stage, but seeing Diplo & Eric Prydz headline the ‘New Music Stage’ is quite amusing
I'm still gutted that the Big Weekend is finally coming to somewhere near me after all these years and I'll be in New York at the time :(
Wow, that is a significantly better Friday lineup that last year imo! Both Diplo & Eric Prydz on the 2nd stage just doesn't feel right to me tho, especially since they're both two huge names in the world of dance music.

In fairness, Fridays have been Future Sounds-stage only in previous years!

Surprised Mabel is on there - wonder if she has new music out soon, she hasn’t been around for ages!

Eh.

Out of the two stages on the Saturday, I’d only be interested in Charli XCX and The Last Dinner Party. Possibly Rag too.
