This has been great for them really. Sian, Victoria, Dean and Sarah now have their own shows as a result of this and they still use some of them from last year to cover Early Breakfast on a Friday and Weekend Breakfast too where Adele isn't available.

Adele Roberts, the current host of the Weekend Breakfast show and famous for being in Big Brother many years ago and on I’m a Celebrity in 2019 has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Very sad news, considering how young she is as well. Fingers crossed she gets through it and is back on the radio soon, I think she’s a very strong presenter. I Wish her well!

Maisie Peters is hosting with Matt today and Joy Crookes is hosting with him tomorrow whilst Mollie is off.

Cel Spellman is back tomorrow to present Life Hacks with Vick for a couple of weeks.

For now, Arielle Free is covering for Adele Roberts this week followed by Vicky Hawkesworth for a few weeks.

Posted on another forum, Radio 1’s Christmas Day schedule:-

6am - Radio 1’s Classic Movie Mixtape

7am - The Happy Hour

8am - Scott Mills

11am - Dean McCullough

2pm - Vick and Jordan

5pm - Greg James and Roisin Hastie: Rogue Promises

7pm - Scott Mills: Christmas Number 2s

9pm - TBA

11pm - The Powerdown Playlist with Sian Eleri

Does anyone know if Radio 1 has any plans to mark the 70th anniversary of the chart next November?

I vaguely remember them playing every No 1 to celebrate some big anniversary (although that might have been using the traditional 1969 date) as a kid and was wondering if they'd be looking at doing something similar next year? Although I'd imagine it'd be difficult to clear days on end of scheduling to do it.

Nothing yet. I should think they’ll announce it soon.

Not gonna lie not a fan of the Xmas chart being on Xmas Eve/day!

Honestly with it being on Xmas Eve I'd be tempted to do a full run down on telly with a few live performances simulcast with the radio show of I was the BBC. Something to stick the kids in front of while people are prepping Christmas dinner.

That’s why I don’t like it as there’s so much else to do them days I always miss it!

You are fasciabted with music being on tv this week Chart 😜!

Yeah I get that. Possibly not an issue here this year so will be nice to have a distraction

Apologies. Still mourning the death of TOTP

Everyone expected they wouldn't want to play Christmas songs in the post-Christmas chart last year too and they still did! :kink: I assume normal chart on New Year's Eve.
