January 13, 20187 yr It's quite a good turn around in recognising urban acts compared with a few years back!
January 13, 20187 yr I knew you'd reply to that! Glad I didn't let you down. They'd be misguided to ignore urban artists after the massive year black British music has just had, so this list is a step in the right direction.
January 13, 20187 yr J Hus has had an undeniably big year, the nominations aren't surprising at all to me!
January 13, 20187 yr don't think I'll bother watching this year when it's going to be a whole show dedicating to kissing the ass of Ed Sheeran. Wasn't last year's show a bit like this as well?
January 13, 20187 yr most shocking nominations ever cos of the sam smith snub and sure paloma's album came later than sam's, so should not be a cut problem and insted of sam they nominate this loyle person, who I've never heard before
January 13, 20187 yr Author Loyle Carner was also nominated for the Mercury Prize last year. His album got to #14 and is critically acclaimed. Radio 1 play him as do 6 Music. Edited January 13, 20187 yr by lewistgreen
January 13, 20187 yr Well if they nominated Sam he'd be more of a threat to Ed which they simply cannot allow!
January 13, 20187 yr find it really bizarre, i kinda hate sam smith but this is too good to be true :D
January 13, 20187 yr Glad I didn't let you down. They'd be misguided to ignore urban artists after the massive year black British music has just had, so this list is a step in the right direction. I do like urban music but just...not him!
January 13, 20187 yr I’m not even the biggest Sam Smith fan at all but I do think it’s really cheeky of them to get him to perform on the night then to just completely snub him from any nominations. Edited January 13, 20187 yr by troylovesmusic
January 14, 20187 yr Omg... this! Yeah it does look like he was genuinely snubbed, I forgot when I made that post that Paloma's album was released even later than his. Just a nice surprise. (Unless my other theory that he might have for some reason withdrawn his own eligibility is right - but that's a bit far-fetched considering he is performing )
January 14, 20187 yr Well if they nominated Sam he'd be more of a threat to Ed which they simply cannot allow! This. Like X Factor ignored Sugababws to make Girls Aloud seem even bigger, the Brits are doing it to Sam to promote Ed even more.
