God has been the subject of many chart hits but never for a #1... until now perhaps? Drake's new single 'God's Plan' has a strong chance of reaching the top this or next week so let's look at the songs that failed to make it all the way. Top 40 hits only.

 

My votes go to Drake, Calvin Harris (fave :heart:), Eminem, Kate Bush, Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs, Faithless and Queen!

My fave Screech song would probably be Family Portrait. I liked that one at the time.

I recall God himself featuring on Kanye West's album track 'I Am a God', don't think it went top 100 though, poor guy can't catch a break.

Gave a vote to “There By The Grace Of God” which always reminds me strongly of autumn half-term in 2002, along with U2's “Electrical Storm”.

Nope. I only know about it because my wife mentioned it... and decided to move to the UK shortly afterwards. I'm not saying that song was the reason but I'm not not saying it either.

Oh does it not? I always assumed What If God Was One Of Us was the actual song title :lol:
