April 15, 20187 yr Not saying it's PROOF but I drop to 66th in the lovechart and Altyr have stopped doing well...
April 15, 20187 yr I got my one win around the same time I became a Lounge mod and was generally a """big player""" :o Nevermind BJSC PROPHECIES, more like BJSC CONSPIRACIES amirite x jk it must just have been the stars aligned at the time lmfao
April 15, 20187 yr I do think there is an element of truth to it as the success rate of most countries does mirror their ‘popularity’ as a poster in the various contests etc, but it doesn’t extend as far as people not voting for great tracks because a supposedly less popular person sent it.
April 15, 20187 yr Disagrees. With all the hype trains, group chats, etc, it'd be a miracle if a song out the inner circle/ subconsciously desired winners list ever got a look in at the top5!!! One thing shatters this entire fantasy. The current YTD #1
April 15, 20187 yr One thing shatters this entire fantasy. The current YTD #1 But I’d argue that you are currently as popular as you ever have been, in fact probably at your peak so far. There are many reasons why the whole thing should correlate - spending more time on line in theory means you’ve got more time to search for and discover new music. Spending more time on buzzjack or other groups means someone knows people better and learns more about what their tastes in things are etc. Not posting as much means someone becomes out of touch and their tastes don’t necessarily follow the other influences. I should be clear that I don’t particularly mind at all, it’s just an interesting aside. Everyone needs to vote FLJ next contest to prove the theory wrong! :D
April 15, 20187 yr """dandruff flake""" makes some interesting points that are actually quite fascinating to mull about if you think about it. Mine is not even one of the more successful countries but I can say from experience that when I was more interested in socializing on BJ / BJ related platforms, my music tastes actually changed (or at least developed) a tiny bit and one of the reasons for that was probably the contest and what people were sending at the time. I was re-learning a lot about the contest and started sending songs that just "felt more BJSC" to me. I'd say what felt BJSC to me was still a little (and maybe still is) warped in ways and I still ended up DNQing a lot tho so maybe my point is invalid but I'm just thinking aloud :kink: Overall tho I do think (know) people make a proper effort to rank the songs according to how much they like them. I mean come on. It's probably like a combination of coincidences and people being more in touch with what's popular. also stars aligning
April 15, 20187 yr Maybe a better example is the current YTD #3, a poster who as far as I'm aware isn't exactly close friends with anyone and generally only posts in song contest threads and occasionally Eurovision. (And if you don't know who I'm referring to, go check out the shiny and exciting YTD thread :magic:)
