Screen Junkies have done two Honest Trailers for the show!

NU-WHO

CLASSIC

love the honest trailers so I find it amazing that they've covered the full span of the show, so many memories there - the most in-depth best bits I've ever seen of the show!

not so keen on the fact that they pick on how much it focuses on the UK, as if all the other 5000 US shows focus on anything other than America, and that's what makes it so special <3 also Kylie is not British oops

one of my favourite parts is Christmas being put in the Doctor's greatest enemies

The Radio Times appear to have confirmed that episode 3 is titled

Rosa

, co-written by

Malorie Blackman and Chibnall

. Very interested to see how this episode turns out!

As Calum says earlier, episode 3’s title is ‘Rosa’ which of course means the events take place

around Rosa Parks and her refusal to give up her seat on a bus. The synopsis says: ‘is someone trying to change history. This episode REALLY intrigues me, it has the potential to be really great and groundbreaking having been written by Malorie Blackman, and starring two black companions in Alabama and the heart of the civil rights movement.

Episode 4 is written by Chris Chibnall and is called ‘Arachnids in the UK’ and sees the gang

head back to Sheffield and we get our (presumably) first glimpse of Yaz’s family! Something is affecting the spider population... Not one for those with arachnophobia!

That episode title omg :')

Surprised Chibnall's single-handedly writing so many of the scripts early on in the series too - I'd have thought he'd save himself for the latter episodes.

Episode 5 is called ‘The Tsuranga Conundrum’ and is written by Chris Chibnall (again!) which sees the group

in space fighting a deadly and unusual creature!

Episode 6 is called ‘Demons of the Punjab’, written by Vinay Patel and is

set in 1947 with Yaz trying to discover her grandmother’s history which sounds very intriguing. Nice to hear we’re getting background to Yaz in episodes 4 & 6!

Arachnids in the UK is awful  Sounds like a promising premise though

maybe a little bit like the bees = aliens plot from Series 4

. Do we know if there’ll be any two parters this year?

So there's been rumours floating around that next year could end up being a gap-year for the show due to 'unforeseen circumstances' affecting production/filming of series 12. The BBC have said no scheduling decisions have been made (obv), but various sources seem to be suggesting that Jodie may be pregnant. :o

Thoughts? How would you feel about a year without the show?

Also, in unrelated news it appears

episode 9 is The Witch Finders by Joy Wilkinson, episode 7 by Pete McTighe, episode 8 by Ed Hime and episode 10 by Chibnall

We only had a break a couple of years ago. If there won’t be a full series then I’d much rather they put out a few specials like in 2009. Especially since the show seems to be finding it’s feet again.

Can't they get around it like they did on Charmed and Friends and film above the waist etc, or include it in the series arc?!

This is why you shouldn’t have a female Doctor, PC gone mad!!!!!!

In all seriousness, if it is because of that, I’m very very happy for her but it is slightly gutting considering the stop/start in series we’ve been having since Series 7 and particularly after the show is riding a new high. A pregnancy is the only reason I will accept! :kink:

There's no way they'll be able to get away with filming above the waist for a whole series!

Yeah considering the doctor is quite a adventitious character I don't see how filming from the waist up or any other filming tricks would work if she was indeed pregnant.

If that is indeed the case, then the only workaround they could have for a full season would be to have a whole series of Doctor-light episodes like "Blink", where The Doctor pops up from time to time but isn't the main focus of the story, although I can't imagine it would be something that the BBC would go for.

For some reason, I had the feeling that that Jodie would only be a one-series Doctor, due to the fact that her profile was already on the way up even before she was cast and is definitely set up for worldwide acting success, although the unexpected popularity of the latest season has put paid to that idea.
