May 21, 20187 yr I actually really liked Gruff, I agree you can't help but compare it to Paul Potts' rendition but I never really like opera and it did strike me! His friends were lovely as well <3 I thought the tap dancers were probably the best too, as Simon said it was simple enough but they really utilised the staging. I really liked the sisters who did Stormzy too but they seem like the token act who'll pick the wrong song in the semi and come 7th  The fact the top 5 with the bookies currently boasts that horrendous dad/son duo and the bloody D-Day darlings (like yes it's nice they appreciate those who went to war but it's 2018, it's not really entertaining, it's borderline emotional blackmail lmao a bit like when Richard Jones won because of including a war veteran and not even doing any magic) is a testament to how meh this series is. I kind of just watch if I've got nothing better to do and just don't catch up if I miss it, there's something about this series that's just muted and meh compared to the last couple which I really got into.
May 21, 20187 yr The Welsh opera singer was a godsend for players of BGT Bingo. They got to tick off several boxes - Cowell stops contestant mid-performance Nissan Dorma Welsh singer HOUSE!!!

They really have been ticking try cliche boxes this year haven't they? I always watch on catch-up and I've been glad of it so far. The FF has been used quite a lot. What made the "magician" even worse was that he was a cook, not a frontline soldier. Yet people voted for him just because he was wearing a uniform. If he had performed dressed as a chef he wouldn't even have made the semi-final.
May 21, 20187 yr Next week's BGMT is live, and on last year's live show before the semis they announced the guest performers. Who are your predictions? Obviously Tokio Myers will perform, I'm also expecting Rak-Su and possibly LSD (wishful thinking). They'll also probably be the cast of a musical performance (probably Chicago). Yeah Tokio and a Musical cast seem like the biggest locks. Then we'll have some utterly random out of nowhere performance as ever  So that leaves I think 2 slots and the final? I'd say these are in with a good shout - Agree with you on Rak-Su & LSD, maybe PrettyMuch also. And you can never rule out Diversity or some patriotic act linked to the Royal Wedding. - Clean Bandit/Demi (can def see this happening, CB performing with Louisa on BGT before and Demi has Cowell links, and both of them are in the UK for Big Weekend as well) - Camila (maybe with Pharrell?) - Ariana - Taylor (tho I think this is more wishful thinking at this point ) - Rita? - Dua? - Shawn? - One of the 1D boys pushing something (Liam or Niall probs) - Little Mix dropping the lead? Last year Camila/5AM/Little Mix (ik they didn't perform in the end but still) were the only 3 current singers so hopefully we'll have more this year!
May 22, 20187 yr They really have been ticking try cliche boxes this year haven't they? Honestly  An episode of BGT would be a great drinking game.
May 22, 20187 yr I would love to see The 1975 at the final, as they have a new single out June 1st. Doubtful though.
May 26, 20187 yr Performers: Monday - Matilda Musical Tuesday - Alfie Boe Wed - RITA ORA !!!! Thurs - Chicago Musical Fri - Tokio Myers Final - Magic Mike performance and Tina Turner Musical Think they blew the budget on Rita
May 26, 20187 yr Really disappointing line-up for the live shows, hopefully they have some sort of surprise of the final.
May 27, 20187 yr Semi Final One Cali Swing (Salsa Dance Group) Ellie & Jeki (Quick Change Artists) Lifford Shillingford (Singer) Lost Voice Guy (Comedian) Maddox Dixon (Magician) Matt Johnson (Escape Artist) Shameer Rayes (Dancer) The D-Day Darlings (Singers)
May 27, 20187 yr I really like Ellie & Jeki, Lost Voice Guy and Shameer off the top of my head, so looking like a strong start!
May 27, 20187 yr The ratings for this have been really bad, it's been against some tough competition but it's gone to 5.6m which is the worst rating since the first series :(
May 27, 20187 yr ^ A huge shame after it had such a strong start this year :( hope it'll pick up a bit during half term.
May 27, 20187 yr Author Yeah this is the first series I haven’t watched in a long, long time. Stopped watching it the week before Eurovision. A 5.6m rating is absolutely tragic compared to 8.6m last year!!
May 28, 20187 yr Absolutely TRAGIC lineup for the live shows. i can't believe I ever got my hopes up for potentially Taylor or Ariana
May 28, 20187 yr I really liked Cali Swing in the auditions but I guess they've got no chance against the others :( D Day Darlings are basically through anyway and I think that Lost Voice Guy should probably get the other spot.
May 28, 20187 yr I can only rememebr Lost Voice Guy and Ellie & Jeki of those  The guests are TRAGIC across the week as well. It says it all that Rita Ora is the best on the line-up... Like I'd love to see Matilda and Chicago but it's hardly the same watching them have a 5 minute guest slot on a TV show.
