If Ariana wanted number 1 , she realistically would have had to have some sort of male feature on the record. I think the song works better with just her.

This is exactly the attitude the music industry does not need - a male feature would not impact the song in any way, and I'm glad Ariana hasn't tacked on Quavo to tick the male feature box. Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson, Anne-Marie, etc have proved you can get big hits without a male featurein recent times so why would Ariana need one for #1?

Also I'd be very surprised if anything from Post Malone's album was a particularly big #1 contender in its first week at least, One Kiss is so huge right now and I can't see anything troubling it yet.

I agree with the above but Jacks point about Drake is nonsense - just because Drake is successful doesn't mean he can get to no1 with any old tripe - I mean if people didn't like it they wouldn't listen or purchase. Same with Ariana!

'Dangerous Woman' came after 'Focus' so I don't think anyone's counting that! And the sooner we all forget 'Focus' was a thing the better. :kink:

One Kiss is a monster, and I can see No Tears Left To Cry selling consistently, so I think we’ll have a Calvin/Dua x Ariana top 2 for a while!

I know. I meant that no-one is counting 'Focus' as a lead single when it was only a promo single to fill the gap between the two albums.

Focus is actually one of her best songs though!

I for one am not all that wowed by the new Ariana track. Knew it was never a nailed-on #1, can never tell how big the competition is/will turn out to be at point of release.
