Israel have been in Eurovision since the 1970s, they're allowed to compete because they're in the EBU (same as Australia †). Of course that doesn't stop people moaning 'but they're not in Europe!!1' though.

 

People are also convinced that the UK did badly because of politics, quelle surprise.

 

Netta is also facing some backlash due to claims of cultural appropriation so that extra publicity could help her go top 10 on iTunes.
