I suspect the Arsenal fans would be happy with him as their manager rather than Arteta. Their squad needs an overhaul though and getting a new manager alone wont be enough.

The fixtures for the new season are released at 9 AM on June 14th. Hopefully the 2018/19 season will be a lot more entertaining than the previous one.

I think it could be mixed views from Arsenal fans on the appointment of Emery.

West Ham have appointed Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager. I wonder what Soy Adrian and MLHammer95 make of this.

not really relevant but Emery was also the successor to Wenger in my most recent FM save. Ended up leading them to a glorious 17th (I was slightly disappointed it wasn't just a bit more shit, I'd never seen a big team get relegated before) before de Boer came in, salvaged operations and won them the league the season after.

As amusing as that would be, I feel like in reality it's a potentially good appointment for Arsenal, he's won titles and if he can adapt the team to his liking, maybe in a couple of seasons?

Emery is more of a yes man, I suspect it's all to do with the structure they have set up. He's a great cup manager as shown by Sevilla, but he did go a full season without winning an away game.. will fit in at Arsenal! Interesting appointment though, same for Pellegrini at West Ham.
Unai Emery has been confirmed as Arsenal's new manager. It's a shame from a rival fan point of view that it wasn't Mikel Arteta instead, the Arsenal fan base are more likely to be united now instead of half of them wanting a manager in and the other half wanting that same manager out.

Silva confirmed for Everton. He won't last the season.

Everton are in a bit of a mess, I think he will last the season so long as he sells his time there as a project.

New fixtures out tomorrow! Predicting Man United's first match to be an away trip to Craven Cottage to play Fulham. Arsenal and Liverpool will probably play each other during the month of August again as well.
I am hoping for as few home matches as possible before December 1st and for us to finally be away on f***ing boxing day. Purely for selfish reasons of course as I'm missing the first half of the seasons home games because i'm in Germany and having missed half the season i'd rather not have to miss another match at christmas (3rd year in a row it would be) because I can't make the trek back from Scotland for a match on the 26th, not without f***ing up christmas.

We will play one of the Top 6 as our 2nd or 3rd game guaranteed. Tbh as long as you avoid the promoted teams in the first couple of games then it's fine. The best time to play the smaller teams is around Christmas.

I think Liverpool's first game will be Southampton at home.

Opening Weekend:

Bournemouth v Cardiff City

Arsenal v Manchester City

Fulham v Crystal Palace

Huddersfield Town v Chelsea

Liverpool v West Ham United

Manchester United v Leicester City

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur

Southampton v Burnley

Watford v Brighton

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton

What a brutal start for Arsenal that is! playing Manchester City & Chelsea in their first two matches. I'd expect Manchester City to win their first six matches of the season looking at their opening fixtures. Starting at home to Leicester could be tricky for United and we're also playing Tottenham soon after that as well. Cardiff have a tough set of fixtures in September that you wouldn't expect them to get any points from.

Only miss 6 home games and the away derby so that’s pretty decent. My first game back will be Arsenal which is decent.

Really pissed off we’re home on Boxing Day for the third year in a row. It’s only Huddersfield so that will be skipped. Bournemouth on the 29th night be skipped too for a decent holiday at Christmas

It was only Burnley last Boxing Day and that turned into a cracker!!
We played at home on Boxing Day the year before that as well. It was when Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored the scorpion kick goal against Sunderland that Oliver Giroud copied later on.
Apparently Napoli's head coach Maurizio Sarri is on the verge of becoming Chelsea manager.
