City have got some revenge on Tottenham by beating them 1-0. Man Utd might as well take the L on Wednesday against City, it could even be possible that we lose that match but still end up in the top 4. Ever since December the remainder of the season in the league for United has been a case of trying to repair the damage that was done early on and slowly preparing for next season so even if we did finish outside the top 4 now I don't think it would have a disastrous effect on us next season.

The biggest problem for Man U if they don't qualify for the Champions League could be that it makes it more difficult for them to recruit new players in the summer.

Given how dreadful the majority of our signings have been in the last few years I don't even think that's necessarily a bad thing^ give some players from the youth academy a chance rather than splashing £50M+ on another Fred.

Yeh united need to decide whether they are one of them clubs who buy players for big money and commercial gain or get back to their roots and start from the academy. United will want to avoid the Europa League qualifiers imo!

Just have a feeling Liverpool could drop points tomorrow for some reason....

Funniest thing about all of this is that some of them thing they actually deserve more money than what they are currently getting.

I really hope the rumour about a 25% mandatory pay cut for failing to make top 4 is true. We will see how many leave as a result and split those that are here for the badge from those that are here for the cash

That's surely not true? If so that's some horrific engagement. I got lambastered on here but Ole is a terrible appointment, made on emotion rather than brains. I think he understands the core of the problem though, which is where the strategy has been horrendous. I think spending money in the key areas and promoting youth is the right way to go about things. But it's created in my opinion such a mercenary culture.

The Sanchez contract has obviously created such a massive problem, as shown by how hard the contract negotiations are. Players want more more money than they are actually worth and the less said about the actual signing of Sanchez the better. I've not seen the game today so I can't comment on the performance. Everton are a side in good form at the moment so getting beaten is one thing, but 4-0 is an absolute stonking. I can't believe football "pundits" think Pogba is anywhere near the Top 6 players in the Premier League for this year, absolutely laughable that 2 BBC journalists put him there.

Disagree about Ole, he passed the audition - he got the job. Now it's beyond any doubt where the fault lies & he'll have the full backing of the board and fans to cull all the utter crap plaguing the squad. We've had "tried & tested" winners as managers and look how that's turned out.

On the other hand you can look it at the team is actually just average & competing with Everton (or not, on today's evidence) is about their level. I'm no Pogba fan but he's the ONE (outfield) player who would even have a sniff at getting into any of the sides in the top 6. This season he's the only reason we're even in the top 4 battle so I'd hold onto him. Martial? Nah... Lukaku...finished, Matic & Fred the worst PL midfield duo we've ever had play for us. And let's not even start on the back 4 lol.

Passed the audition and you've been largely terrible ever since! The PSG result, while yes it was great, it was a complete fluke. I only say this about Ole, because as a Liverpool fan we've made very similar mistakes in our past. There's this obsession about "the Utd way" and I think until he gets over that, he's going to struggle. Obviously yes there's needs to be auge clearout as there are so many average players picking up huge salaries. But a rebuild job like that is going to take 3-4 transfer windows. I think with Ole, at least fans will have some patience I suppose.

Suspect it will be a very interesting summer. If you sign any attacking players you'll need to get rid of 1, possibly 2. Bale will obviously be available in the summer, he's the type if player you would definitely have gone for in the past, if you avoid signing him then maybe the strategy is finally changing for the better!

Poor result for Arsenal too. Palace winning is a good result for Liverpool though, I honestly think it will end up 2-2 between city and united

I think getting battered today was the best thing that could have happened really. They need to at least get something out of the City game and need to give a performance vs Man City after getting a tonking. Logic states it should be an easy City win though.

That's surely not true?
Like I said, it's only a rumour but I honest to god hope it is. They need a wake up call and we need rid of the mercs who only play for money. If money trumps the badge then you've no place at my club or any like it. If money is what matters they can f*** off an either play in China or for one of the laundrettes like City, PSG or Chelski.

We'd better stay the f*** away from bale. He is a shining example of the path we have found ourselves down. We won't progress anywhere as long as Woodward remains in control of the transfers. We either need a DoF or rid of Woodward.

I can't see that true, unless it's contractually in there. I guess it could be for some players, but seems very strange. I just think Sanchez created a huge hole with his disproportinate wages to the rest of the squad. I can understand players wanting a raise when negotiating a new contract and using Sanchez as an example. I think there comes a point when you admit defeat negotiations - but like I said, this challenge is all self-inflicted.

A DOF would be good, or at least someone with a vision to set up some structure. I think you'll avoid Bale personally, but his agent will put him out to every club out there in the summer. Him and Rabiot will be horrendous in the summer with them both being linked to all of the top clubs.

Welp at least one positive from today is that there's only 3 weeks to go until this season is over forever. It has been a disaster apart from the probation period for Ole Gunnar.

Sounds like Mike Phelan is going to be promoted to Technical Director. Long may the disaster continue!

It can definitely continue by losing to Manchester City on Wednesday ;)

If you do lose, that's another 3 defeats in a role for you. You'll soon be waiting 29 years for a league title at this rate!

Hodgson has done an absolute incredible job at Palace. I think if he's provided with a good budget in the summer he could take Palace top 10.

Really? They’re about as inconsistent as they come, I think with the players they have they should be better than they are. If Zaha goes they will struggle to replace his goals. Suspect they will struggle to keep hold of Zaha and Wan-Bissaka in the summer.
