In terms of sales, chart positions and general impact.

01 Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss

02 Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

03 Drake - God’s Plan

04 Drake - Nice For What

05 Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday

I’d probably place ‘This Is Me’ at 6.

How would you rank the top 5 biggest hits of the year?

I'd say similar to you;

01 Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss

02 Drake - God's Plan

03 Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

04 Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday

05 Keala Settle - This Is Me

1. Calvin Harris - One Kiss

2. Drake - God's Plan

3. Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday

4. Rudimental - These Days

5. Keala Settle - This Is Me

With the top 10 consisting of Drake's other one, Ariana, George Ezra, Marshmello and Not3s, probably.

Ariana not top 5, mdh? :o

It'll probably end up top 5, but I've gone for the ones that've been out long enough to become established long-running hits, she's probably number 6 right now ;)

I haven’t really heard or noticed Nice For What outside of following the chart through Buzzjack. Gods Plan however was everywhere, helped by the video. I would agree with mdh on the 5, with Ariana just outside.

1. God's Plan

2. One Kiss

3. This Is Me

4. Freaky Friday

5. either NTLTC/Psycho/These Days

Nice For What is a bit older than One Kiss but it also spent less time on top than One Kiss.

Unless another single from it is pushed, it may be back at #1 when his album releases

Personally, I haven't heard the Ariana Grande song. I think the biggest songs of the year should be unavoidable, even if you don't like them.
I literally know none of these except This Is Me. Am I missing anything amazing?

I agree. Songs that are used for TV programmes, adverts, played a lot on the radio, you hear a lot out and about are the truly unavoidable ones. I don't think there is a song such as that so far this year.

From 2017 Shape Of You & Power by Little Mix were definitely two songs that were unavoidable unless you were living in a remote village or something

I've never heard Power by Little Mix.

If you've heard a chipmunked voice saying "I've got the, I've got the power, I've got the, I've got the power" then you must have heard part of it at least

I'm a big Little Mix fan but I don't remember Power being that big and unavoidable last year.

Of any songs here tipped for the Top 5, they could easily change around by the end of the year which is a really interesting thing we haven't really had since 2015.

2016 - One Dance was obviously huge and unavoidable all the way through and then Cold Water / Closer / Rockabye (and Never Be Like You in Aus/NZ)

2017 - Shape Of You, Something Just Like This, Despacito, New Rules, Havana, maybe Unforgettable were arguably the biggest songs of the year all over

2018 - God's Plan was insanely big at first but it's fading away a lot quicker than One Dance did
