Biography

Charlotte Emma Aitchison (born August 2, 1992), known professionally as Charli XCX, is an English singer and songwriter. She signed to Asylum Records in 2010 and her releases include four mixtapes (Heartbreaks and Earthquakes and Super Ultra in 2012, and Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 in 2017), two studio albums (True Romance in 2013 and Sucker in 2014), and two extended plays (including Vroom Vroom in 2016.) The songs "Boom Clap" and "Doing It" earned Charli XCX her first two top-ten singles on the UK Singles Chart as a lead artist; the former reached the top-ten of several charts worldwide. As a featured artist, she reached number one in the UK with Icona Pop's "I Love It" and number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 with Iggy Azalea's "Fancy". - Wikipedia

Biography

Banx & Ranx

Montreal-based production duo Banx & Ranx formed in 2014, made up of studio mavens KNY Factory and Soke. The two producers craft a sound that blends reggae and other Caribbean influences into a decidedly more club-ready style, focusing their early output on electronic reworkings of classic tracks by iconic reggae artists like Bob Marley, Sizzla, and Capelton. It wouldn't be until the 2017 release of their single "LIT" that the duo would offer up original music, taking the trap-inflected rhythmic touches they'd been adding to other artists' reggae tracks to a new level. Banx & Ranx continued with steady studio work, doing remixes and production for Gorillaz, Sean Paul, David Guetta, and more before the 2018 release of their original single "Answerphone." - iTunes

Rak-Su

Pop-R&B quartet Rak-Su won the 2017 season of the U.K. X Factor. Performing original music on the show -- more than any other act before them -- they won audiences over with their showmanship and fun, positive attitude, becoming the first boy band to triumph. Formed in the commuter town of Watford, just north of London, by school friends Ashley Fongho (rapper and principal songwriter), Jamaal Shurland (lead singer), Myles Stephenson (rapper and producer), and Mustafa Rahimtulla (dancer, DJ, and beatboxer), the group was already a well-oiled machine before auditioning, with extensive performance experience and a self-released EP, 2016's Flights 'n' Feels, under their belt. Their unusual name comes from the phrase "tracks vs. suits," signifying the conflict between carefree youth, exemplified in making music, and adult responsibility. After leaving school, the four held down varied day jobs, ranging from physiotherapist to dance teacher. Showing astute business acumen, they formed their own limited company several months before auditioning for The X Factor, to handle any earnings they might make. Despite having previously forsworn the show, they changed their minds, deciding it was a way to get more exposure even if they didn't win. In the event, they did so with ease, becoming clear favorites from the outset and coming first in almost every round; mentor Simon Cowell compared them favorably with One Direction. They performed many of their original songs, showcasing a fun, exciting blend of Latin-tinged pop, rap, and R&B. Following their win, they signed, as expected, to Cowell's Syco label. Their self-penned debut single, "Dimelo," featuring Wyclef Jean and Naughty Boy, hit number two on the U.K. singles chart. - iTunes

Well done to George! To be honest I've found Shotgun to be one of his weakest yet (Budapest and Paradise deserved it so much more) but this is still a great thing for an artist like him to achieve
Eek at Shotgun. Easily the worst #1 of the decade.

Wait....?

You don't like Shotgun....

Wish you'd mentioned that somewhere :smoke:

“Smug”

Thought he came across really sweetly actually. Not my cup of tea but I'm pleased that records like this can still go to #1 in this "climate".

Shotgun is brilliant, finally two excellent #1s in a row  (prior to these I'd only cared for Freaky Friday and One Kiss, both #25 hits in my chart...)
amazing x ezra!!!!!! best @1 in ages
Eek at Shotgun. Easily the worst #1 of the decade.
