Very strange decision playing 6ix9ine when he's alive and not playing XXXTentacion when he was murdered imo

Whose bright idea from Radio 1 was to play a song from a p****? 6ix9ine should not have been played at all.

I found it interesting they referred to him as Takeshi69 last week but 6ix9ine this week. Very inconsistent too with not playing XXX but playing him indeed.

 

Pretty dull week in all but at least we always have songs entering ACR now to free up some space, just remember how bad it was 2 years ago! (I distinctly remember a week where something like 11 of the top 12 were non-movers or something & the only new song was the held-back Sigala's 'Give Me Your Love'!

Did they really play the entirety of Fefe? At the most they should have just played a snippet with someone from Newsbeat explaining the controversy behind it like they did with Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead recharting.

 

I wonder whether contemporary music radio stations are shunning 6ix9ine in America, a lot of them mustn't be judging by how well Fefe is doing and the fact the Billboard Hot 100 counts airplay.

- very happy Ariana got a third week top 10, I was expecting another big drop for some reason!

- dammit at Juice WRLD stalling at #12 :(

- surprised to say the least that R1 actually played 6ix9ine, song sounded a bit better than the first time I heard it tbh

- having heard it a couple more times I am now fully on board with Loud Luxury, a bop

- 'Ay Caramba' was a decent second new entry, glad we got one of those in the end :P and it is nice to see someone like Fredo getting a breakthrough hit as something slightly different to the increasingly identikit afrobeat stuff. On that note I'd love to see 'Gucci Mane' by D Block Europe and Yxng Bane make the top 40, heard that the other day and it's quite a tune and again not just the same old afrobeat formula
