ZieZie was born into a Congolese family, and his late father granted him the name he would later don, which has proven to have become a self-fulfilling prophecy. "I had to miss a week of college to look after my little brother and sister," he recalls. Amazed that none of the tunes his early 2000's imperial phase (Bla Bla Bla, The Riddle, L'Amour Toujours, La Pasión) were a hit in the UK. None of them were ever pushed. Bla Bla Bla was on a Hits compilation in 2000 though, so I guess it was being lined up for a push that never happened. All four of those could have been huge had they had exposure. I do think L'Amour Toujours is quite well known though nonetheless, it often gets played on Clubland TV and is sort of recognised here as a club classic for example. This top 40 for him is LONG overdue though. Definitely one of the best dance songs of recent times for me <3
