September 3, 20196 yr Honestly still a little shook by the Pitchfork rating... Surely she has an album of the year Grammy nomination on lock?
September 3, 20196 yr Honestly still a little shook by the Pitchfork rating... Surely she has an album of the year Grammy nomination on lock? It's been a fairly weak year so both her and Tool could sneak in on the last day of submissions. It should be easier now there are 8 slots in the category, too.
September 3, 20196 yr Me: Pitchfork are sexist and pretentious Pitchfork: 9.4 for NFR Me: HA! Literally *.*
September 4, 20196 yr first Lana album I've listened to in years (largely because I was seeing such good reviews), incredible stuff. California and Doin' Time and hope is a dangerous thing... especially.
September 4, 20196 yr For those who skipped LFL I strongly suggest going back. It's got some Lana gems and highlights.
September 4, 20196 yr Yes show that taste Izzy Rascal! Now that's an interesting side-effect of this rebrand. More ideas for names :magic: For those who skipped LFL I strongly suggest going back. It's got some Lana gems and highlights. I may just put it on seeing as my playlist is all set up to go straight on to it.
September 5, 20196 yr Lust for Life is such an amazing album but this just elevates her brand and style to a whole new level *.*
September 6, 20196 yr Fantastic result! About 10K higher than I’d anticipated and in such a difficult sales climate too. She’s smashed it ^_^
September 7, 20196 yr Yesss she sold way more than I imagined. I thought her pure sales would’ve been on the 12-13K mark and then streams maybe adding another 3K on top. I didn’t think she’d get the number one that easily. Glad she’s had her highest opening since Ultraviolence and really hope the album gets some longevity behind it as that’s something her last 3 albums have all lacked. I’m not expecting a Born To Die like Million selling era but I hope the word of mouth promo that the albums good mixed with it being #1 encourages people to check it out. Also wow at Lana being the female (alongside Taylor Swift) with the most UK number one albums this decade. That’s such a good quiz show like question on The Chase or Millionaire there’s not many people who’d think it was Lana especially outside of this forum.
September 8, 20195 yr I think this album could have some legs with the amount of acclaim it's had, it quite easily beating the opening sales of her last 2 albums is a great start.
September 8, 20195 yr Do we think she'll win Best International Female at the BRITs next year? Surely a nomination is on lock?
September 9, 20195 yr It'll be between her, Ariana and Taylor but I don't think she'll win as Ariana or Taylor will probably get performance-win deals.
September 9, 20195 yr I dunno... the Brits tend to opt for either International Male or Female to make their shock 'credible' award and I think Lana's album is perfect for it.
September 9, 20195 yr I dunno... the Brits tend to opt for either International Male or Female to make their shock 'credible' award and I think Lana's album is perfect for it. They've done that lately when they've had no performers from that category, so it depends if they have any of those this time.
September 9, 20195 yr it could between Lana and Taylor at the Brits... sure not Ariana, that would be a joke
September 9, 20195 yr #3 in the US but with over 100K sales Lana Del Rey’s Norman f**king Rockwell! debuts at No. 3 with 104,000 equivalent album units (with 66,000 of that sum in album sales). Norman tallies Del Rey her sixth top 10 effort. Her last album, 2017’s Lust for Life, opened at No. 1 with 107,000 units (with 80,000 of that in album sales).
