Well considering the only thing she's put out since last years BRITS is Monopoly and Boyfriend I can see their point. Also she won it last year.

tu,n will be rewarded this year, won't it?

I believe the period is Nov-Dec (following year) or something!

She put out an entire album including two #1s singles since then?

Thank u next came out before the BRITS?

Yeah but the Brit noms are for the previous year. Nothing from 2019 would have been eligible. TUN came out over a month after the nominations came out.

Billie Eilish was who I thought would get it tbh but I could see her being nominated alongside Taylor Ariana and Rihanna if she releases this year or maybe P!nk?
Much higher sales than initially projected in the US then! Over 100k is great. Shame it's ending up as likely her lowest peaking studio album but that's more down to bad timing than anything else.

forgot about Billie Eilish, sure she can win too

I thought Ariana wouldn't make the cut cos she's only released Monopoly and Boyfriend but if her album counts, then she's in too

Yes to be fair Billie will probably win - forgot all about her!

Ariana Grande

Billie Eilish

Lana Del Rey

Lizzo

Taylor Swift

Seems like the most likely list of nominations, although who knows who else will release by the end of November

#3 in the US but with over 100K sales

Lana Del Rey’s Norman f**king Rockwell! debuts at No. 3 with 104,000 equivalent album units (with 66,000 of that sum in album sales). Norman tallies Del Rey her sixth top 10 effort. Her last album, 2017’s Lust for Life, opened at No. 1 with 107,000 units (with 80,000 of that in album sales).

Unlucky :( If she released on a lower sales week, it woulda been a no.1 too.

DAMN YOU TOOL AND TAYLOR!!!!

think Lana has more chances at the Grammys than the Brits...

I hope so

Well at the GRAMMYs there’s more awards she could be nominated for at the BRIts there’s just one as they got rid of some of the international ones.

It’d be great to see her win her first Grammy award though it’s been long overdue.

Also those opening sales she had in the US for this album we’re impressive. Pretty much the same combined total as the last album really. And good to see her get another top 3 debut.

She's very likely to be nominated for album of the year for the first time at the Grammy's But is unlikely to win it. Hopefully she can snag a smaller award.
why so unlikely? if there's universal critical acclaim + the label does a bit of lobbying, I don't see why not

We can hope. But I don't see it for her.

I wouldn't be surprised if a similar situation to Lorde and Janelle Monae happened. They didn't make it into the genre categories (somehow) but did get AOTY nominations. They were both too acclaimed to be ignored, and the three big categories (AOTY, SOTY, ROTY) have a committee that can veto or add anything.

I feel she'll get in (maybe via the blue ribbon thing that def helped Lorde deservedly get AOTY nom)

Honestly feel getting the nom is the challenge, can see her contending for the win if she gets the nom!
