September 24, 20186 yr Author Persephonia Good evening from Carellis, here are the votes from Persephonia, with thanks once again to our special sponsor GarageBand who wish Skee Mask the best of luck in not bombing. :jump: The crowd no doubt roars in absolute shock at the recipient of our 18 - getting our top marks for the second time this year and the fourth time in total (following Last Lynx, MONOMOTION and goreshit in BJSCs 74, 97 and 102 respectively) it's Jadakissnia with an absolutely beautiful tear-jerker of an orchestral piece, one of their best ever entries <3 which unfortunately means that Terra Avium - an equally shocking name to appear at the top end of our votes - settle for second place yet again, taking 15 points with another stunning ambient piece, We Are All Astronauts being behind one of our favourite Terra Avium entries already in the form of 'Wolves' but this one we actually like even more despite it missing out on our top score this time. That's now 5 times we've given Terra Avium 15 since we last gave them 18, whoops. Completing the medals it's Kluminican Republic who we're thrilled to see making a proper comeback again and they're still keeping up their recent high quality with an absolutely bonkers and otherworldly experience of an entry in all the best ways, also our pick for best video of the month x this means 5 of their last 8 qualifiers have got at least 12 points from us. A no doubt brief but ~exciting~ welcome back to D'yermak'er who get our 12 points (their first points from us since BJSC 92) as they finally get a desi bop to the final following the racism shown to 'Look Lak', 'Pakka Sharabi' and 'De De Gerra'. A bop. We stan. 11 points go to the earworm of the contest from Land of DW, strong 'Join The Riot' vibes (and continuing a run of fabulous form from our favourite Hungarian nation). A standout moment in the final and our tip for the win, Quintessa's operatic masterpiece gets our 10 points, while a best-yet 9 points go to Jupiterdonia (quirky foreign language rap is usually a good way to our hearts). Utopia's excellent comeback continues as they get another 8 points from us with a big grower of a rock track, thank god this one survived the deduction. Tartford are in our votes for the first time in just over a year, picking up 7 points with a Moth Equals-esque chillout track (can't believe it's the same person who made 'Doctor Pressure'!) and 6 points go to a gorgeous choral piece from Desbuanda. Fljótavík don't quite make it three 18s in a row but still get another 5 points with their alt-R&B track which proved another big grower. The universe implodes as our 4 points head the way of Niceland (yes, we surrender in this deadlock of never voting for each other as Skee Mask will no doubt be near last for you x), they've had a few very good entries this year so it was a matter of time and they've managed it at last with a massive 80s-esque power rock track, their best entry to date *.* Three 'T' countries complete our votes: Thelonia get 3 points with a solid rave banger, 2 points go to another big grower from Trifoski, a rather dreamy track ~ and our mealworm point goes to Tinnmark achieving the rare feat for them of getting points from us twice in a year (albeit only barely), a lovely chillout track with excellent use of spoken vocals.
