This episode intrigues me the most out of the ones revealed so far! Not only is it interesting that we're going to the recent past but it's tackling an issue that the show has very rarely touched on before and it is going head first with one of the leading figures of the civil rights movement.

I've not personally read much, if at all, of any of Malorie's work (a fault on my part) but of course she is a HUGELY respected author so I'm really excited to see her write for the show.

I really believe this has the ingredients to become a classic, I hope it lives up to my hype!!

This sounds really interesting and feels like it has the potential to be unlike any episode we've seen before... fingers crossed!

Also like the title, which is a play on the first ever episode title!

I don’t see the correlation with An Unearthly Child  x

I have a bit of trepidation about this episode, especially given that it focuses on someone who was very much a major figure in the civil rights movement. If they don't get the tone completely 100% on the button, it could end up upsetting a whole lot of people. The good thing is they've got perhaps one of the most perfect writers they could have got to write the episode in question (Malorie Blackman, whose novel "Pig Heart Boy" was a favourite of mine when I was a kid), so hopefully it will turn our well.

The AIRED pilot and first ever episode was still called An Unearthly Child!!

Well I disagree!

#Rose

I'm really looking forward to this episode, probably more-so than any other. I just really hope they get it right, and there's not TOO much interference from 'usual' DW. I have faith Blackman and Chibnall will have treated it sensitively but also not held back on making it as powerful as it can be either.

I may be getting mixed up with my dates, but I swear Rose aired almost 42 years after the very first episode. I’m fairly certain Billie Piper wasn’t even born in 1963 or else she’s aged amazingly.

I'm not usually a fan of the episodes set in the past. I think Doctor Who is at its best when it's creative and futuristic and introducing new worlds and crazy monsters. However I still look forward to this and hope it keeps the quality up!
Yeah that was a pretty impressive episode and very glad they didn't shy away from showing the truth of the time.
