I agree that it was a bit underwhelming as a challenge, of course doing drag and performing IS a talent so it's not surprising we get a lot of just what we'd see in a show in the talent show, but it's hard to get too excited when it's just a bunch of queens lipsyncing and dancing. I did really enjoy it though and it was an opening that made me excited for the rest of the series.

 

I think it was all quite close, nobody completely stood out in the way that say Aja or Tatiana did in their seasons but my top 4 was definitely Monique, Trinity, Gia and Latrice, but I also loved Manila's as something totally different. I wouldn't have put it top 2 because most of it I was like erm what and then it was just that last couple of seconds that wowed me and thought how did she do it, but it was great to see something different, same with Gia. I did love Monique's but I think I'd have put Gia/Latrice top 2 over her, as said we've kind of seen dancing to your own song SO many times. Gia did something totally different but worked it, and Latrice put a spin on what we usually see with the flags. I did love Monique and Trinity's performances though so I can't be mad at them being top. Jush was definitely the worst, undeniably, as the queens said it's a total different thing doing stand-up than it is being funny for a minute online. There was just nothing at all, just rehashing her video about the guy with bad breath and then walking off :lol: I think it should have been Monet over Farrah bottom 2 though, neither were anything we have seen before but other than falling I think Farrah did fine, sometimes these things happen. Monet just did a song we've already heard and at times it looked like she didn't know what she was doing with her choreo and just sort of chucked in a couple of twirls and splits.

 

 

I really really don't like Gia's attitude though, to be honest she's in the weaker half of the queens here so I don't know what her attitude is for :lol: I'm also tired of Farrah already, this could really have been her chance to do an Aja and break out, but she seems to have not developed at all and is still just pretty and nice enough, and too whiny. Valentina can also already go, can't stand her and she just comes across so fake. Jasmine going I'm really not bothered about, as I said she was the worst and whilst she has more entertainment potential than a few left in, I don't think she is the sort of queen for this show. She is hilarious on her own terms but has real trouble applying it to the show's format and in terms of looks, acting etc. she just doesn't have the range. She's a tough one because the memes and Vines made her memorable, but I don't think she is All Star material at all. It'd be ok if she hung around for 2-3 episodes to give us a meme but we didn't even get that :lol:

Forgotten how much I loved Manilla... I was a bit WTF at her talent show thing, but it stood out and thought it was different to the usual lipsync and then splits.

 

Trinty is great too and Valentina is making me laugh too

 

Not feeling Gia - she just comes across as a bitter bitch for no real reason.

 

An improvement on the Christmas show, but as Allstar Talent shows go it was a little samey.

 

Ugh at the wig coming off in the lipsync… what is this Series 2/3/4? I thought that went out with Milan being eliminated after continually doing it. Lazy. Trinity deserved that win!

 

Also Stacey Layne Matthews next week!?!

Im not that mad at Jasmine going I just am disappointed because her doing stand up could have been excellent but it was like an attempt to re-create her meme videos and that doesn't translate to always good stand up comedy.

I wasn't that impressed by Trinity during the actual challenge, but she had the best comebacks during the mini-challenge and her lip sync was fantastic.

 

I genuinely love Monique but that wig moment was messy and, unless you have petals under there, there better be another wig on that head.

I enjoyed the episode on the whole! The right person went, I never liked Jasmine on S7 and I've not seen any of these 'hilarious' memes that she's been involved in, so no less there for me.

 

I thought Valentina's performance was excellent, I think she's the best Latinx queen that the show has ever had and it was so refreshing having her performance in Spanish! :wub: She definitely should have been rewarded for it, I would have put her or Gia in the top two over Monique.

 

I love them but Monique and Monet need to retire the brown cows and sponges. It semi proves to me that this season is too soon, and including queens from this year is too soon. It's a little tired. The return of Lil' Poundcake worked because there had been time to forget about it.

I agree with this. Monet's look wasn't even as good as her S10 sponge dress and she used exactly the same silhouette as her opening look. I easily would have placed her bottom two over Farrah, who at least provided a stunning look.

 

Oh and I think Monique took her wig off during the lipsync as it was slipping anyway? It didn't look planned

I really liked the episode, but the reads they put up on youtube were better than the ones they showed on air. Also I didn't really agree with the top - I thought Latrice/Gia shoould've been the winners/top 2 with Trinity/Monique/Manila taking the 3rd high spot. I agreed with the bottom 3 and with Jasmine's elimination. Such a shame Farrah fell as she would've likely have been safe otherwise. The Lip sync was a bit disappointing - I thought Trinity did really well and Monique was good but her wig coming off... Was great to get a Mariah song though.

 

 

Looking forward to next week's challenge though with Stacey Lane Matthews!

 

 

I'm here for Gia's bitchiness - it'll be entertaining to see her go toe to toe with other queens/create drama. I'm just hoping it doesn't go the way of Phi Phi.

I enjoyed the episode but it did feel a bit undercooked for an All Star opener. I expected a bit more.

 

Trinity is everything. She's a great performer, looks incredible and can clap-back like a champion. I feel like Trinity is going to do an Alaska and absolutely dominate this season.

 

Gia on the other hand...nope. She looks beautiful. She really is stunning, but there's not even a glimmer of humour in her attitude. She's just vicious and it looks like she'll just target the more sensitive queens, like Farrah. I can see Trinity being one of the only ones to properly lock horns with her. I'm here for that.

 

Having said that, Gia's talent show performance was actually really great. So different and really quite beautiful.

 

And some of those reads were so awful. You'd think they'd never done it before. Farrah in particular was dreadful.

That's one thing that always annoys me, the reading challenge happens every season and I feel like, as well as a Snatch Game character, a queen should have that. That sort of cutting sense of humour, an ability to make fun of others and clap back is something a queen needs imo, and it always surprises me that there's always a couple of queens who just don't get it - it's always coming prepare for it! :/

We know from season 9 that Farrah isn't funny though, so I would have been surprised if she had actually done a good read. It just makes me worried for her in future comedy challenges.

I think she's just better at making comments in the moment (maybe without realising), rather than having something planned beforehand.

Talentina’s lip sync was so messy but I kinda loved it. She really went for it at the end, she reminded me of me drunk at a club thinking I’m it. Monet is getting tired though, it was just boring and not funny.

 

Really fun episode. I love her, but Gia could be crossing from kinda iconic comedy villain to irritating and mean villain now.

 

Oh and Manila’s runway was the tea.

Oh gosh most of those runways were AMAZING. Manila's dress definitely saved her.

 

Everyone can defend Gia all they like saying producers edited the footage to include her smile immediately after Farrah's fall last week and it might be true but GURL... she dug a grave for herself after this episode for sure. I mean everything she says is just fake as f*** and she's here only to play the game. I wonder if she genuinely thought this strategy is the best one. As if it's not transparent enough...

Gia is SO unbearable, I guess the drama was somewhat entertaining for the first episode but I was just so so tired of her by the end of this week's... When she explained the "drama" that led to her relationship with Farrah going sour, I just rolled my eyes, it sounded SO petty when she got down to it! As for the actual episode, I really enjoyed that challenge, more than the talent show. I'd have had Latrice or Naomi top 2 instead of Monet but Monet was great too. Part of me thought Villaintina was going to cut Monique tbh but I'm so glad she didn't, she shouldn't have even been bottom 2 imo and definitely has far too much to give to go this early.
