Correct decisions made all round, apart from the last one. I would have sent Latrice packing.

 

She represents nothing about modern drag at all. That runway outfit was beyond disgusting and her lip sync wasn't anything to get excited about. To me, Monique won that by a country mile.

It felt a bit pointless to be honest, the only lipsync where they both really brought it was Gia and Naomi, which should've been the double shante tbh although Gia ofc would have been straight back out of the door next week (not that Latrice probably won't :lol:). I've always found Latrice a bit overrated in a 7/10 fine in her own way sort of way. Very dated, and that's fine at her own show or hosting a night but it really shows but she's up against the likes of Monique, Valentina, Manila and Trinity who in their own ways represent where drag could be going, it really shows. Manila is of the older "generation" of Drag Race alumni (for want of a better word) but still feels like something new and unique. Latrice doesn't bring anything we haven't seen already twice from her and many times from other queens, and it's really her time to go. To have what is essentially a fourth shot.... :mellow: In my eyes, Monique slaughtered her. Not quite as much as Val/Farrah and Trinity/Jasmine, although you can tell Jush was really not bothered about coming back and Farrah just isn't good enough.

 

The next challenge looks a bit odd, nice to have something new/different but I'm gonna be so so pissed if Manila goes on another weird new challenge (Queens Behaving Badly in AS1). If she's bottom 2, I feel like most of them will send her home :/ I'd be more than happy with Trinity winning this whole thing if she can't, but I think Manila coming what would essentially be 7th would be on the same level as Shangela missing top 2 because of that horrendous jury twist.

Exactly!! People are going on about Valentina or Monique's delusion, but at least at points they have brought it and the former is hilarious. Latrice is really up in here thinking the same gown she's worn for 3 seasons and playing herself in comedy/acting challenges is "the future of drag"....

I loved the last episode. Gia vs Naomi was amazing and I loved Latrice vs Monique as well. Farrah did better than I thought she would too! I loved the drama and everything *_* I'm hoping that Latrice or Naomi get a rudemption story line from next week onwards. They need to win a challenge or two to get back in the competition properly. The competition is too close for me to call it, especially now we're back to all stars rules. Manila and Monique are the frontrunners but I don't think Monet/Naomi/Valentina are that far behind really. Latrice is dead last and unless she pulls something of the bag soon I can see her going home next week or the week after.

Monet is getting a shining edit but she's actually one of the worst in the competition I think. She bombed week 1, 3 and 4 (was very lucky to escape the bottom 2 2/3 of those times), she won for a roast that wasn't even funny, most of her runways have been consistently the worst. But I feel like the producers want her to win or at least make the final.

 

In the same way I think Naomi and Valentina are doing better than the edit is making out too.

 

For me, in terms of talent actually shown, disregarding the judges messy choices (I've kind of stopped taking on board the judges choices since AS3 as they just got weirder and weirder), this is how I'd rank them;

 

Trinity / Manila tied

Valentina / Naomi

Monique

Monet

Latrice

I don't think she's terrible. She was one of my favourites in season 10 and I was so annoyed Euracist and Kameron snooze made it further, but I think in an All Stars season she's not standing out as much as she should on the challenges, and has been very lucky to get the critiques she has to make it as far as she has, especially as her talent show could have easily gotten her eliminated in week 1 (I think, despite falling on her ass, Farrah should have escaped the bottom 2 due to actually having a fully realised and polished concept).

 

I think hers and Manila's roasts were the best of a bad bunch.

The roasts were truly shocking outside of Monet and Manilla, which made them seem much stronger in comparison.

 

I don't think Monet is bad - she had her moments during that episode especially - but the majority of what she has shown in All Stars has been underwhelming. It's the downside of throwing yourself into another season without having much time to progress. She's a funny queen who, despite there being comedy challenges most weeks, has only succeeded in one.

 

Naomi has been overlooked throughout the season (her Snatch Game moment was top 2 worthy). Valentina hasn't been anywhere near as bad as the rankings would suggest. She should have been in the top for Jersey Justice, and only in the bottom for the roast (although Trinity and Naomi were worse).

 

If you ignore how they've ranked then they've all performed similarly. Up and down.

Monique's bottoms were questionable, for the girl group challenge it probably should have been Gia instead (perhaps Manila) = I suppose the actual way she went about the performance and the Aaaliyah coat weren't the best but I loved the actual verse. The roast bottom 4 was kinda bullshit as despite some of the jokes maybe getting lost and there not being as much time to breathe, she was clearly ahead of the others (yet also behind Manila/Monet for sure). But I guess all of that is just an opinion, that's why I'm a bit iffy on them being so hung up on track records when eliminating, because the judges just don't get it right enough.

Monique/Valentina - both with worse track records which do have to be taken into account, but I feel like they have *it* for sure plus Valentina's bottom for Snatch Game was absolute bullshit and one of the most bizarre decisions ever tbh.

Naomi - I don't quite agree with this whole "robbed" narrative, I don't think she's THAT great aside from a solid Snatch Game and she should have been top 2 over Monet in the girl group challenge. This week's lipsync was very good but not as life-changingly amazing as gay Twitter hyping her up for long legs would have you believe :lol: I am impressed with how s he's doing and proving herself in a couple of comedy/performance challenges rather than just being a fashion queen, but I think she's not being shown because.... there's just not as much there as the others tbh.

I think with Valentina, once the producers got their full circle story done in episode 2, they were kind of done with her as her narrative was wrapped up. If she'd been rightfully top for the jury challenge and not bottom 2 for the Snatch Game (she wasn't even bottom 3, Latrice didn't do anything and had the worst runway of the season) she'd have one of the strongest track records in the series.

100%, Monet and Latrice both kind of just played themselves, at least Monet tried to fit in some Whitney references I guess even if it was a swing and a miss. Latrice just was like "a whole lotta woman" and then just had a strop over Gia for the rest of it so it definitely should have been Latrice/Gia, that would probably given some decent drama too given how self righteous Latrice has been recently.

Yeah probably, I think they knew Gia would go either way so just wanted the meltdown for her being bottom 2 to make it a bit more entertaining :lol:

Not according to Trinity. She's been pretty up front about the whole thing on Twitter today.

 

She said her cape was never supposed to be a reveal, she wore it with 3 of the 4 songs in mind, as her performance was planned to work with them. She didn't plan on ripping it off, she worked it in because of the shapes it made when spinning. Unfortunately she got the song she didn't really want so just had to wing it :lol: so off came the cape. She said she'd have picked Adrenaline if they got to choose.

 

Naomi also chimed in to back her up and say they were not told there was a specific runway theme, just to wear "dance" outfits, and they've said they 100% had to learn all 4 songs with very little notice and had no idea which song they would get.

 

Trinity also said in the replies that Gia/Naomi's lip sync was her favourite from the back of the room. Girl's got taste.
