what I find bizarre about the new Ari single doing so well os how poorly God is a Woman did in comparison

personally think GIAW is 100 times better, came after the big success of No Tears but did poorly everywhere

just checked and GIAW did 300K on 1st day in the low top 20 and moved up but never did crazy numbers

same in the US, where the song only managed top 10 on album release week, peaking at a "relatively low" #8

I said when it was released the crazy right wing religious folk embedded in patriarchy would take it as an insult to call god anything other than an alpha male.

also nice to see Pink top 200, HH effect always works

Thank GOD "Polaroid" is stalling, one of the least imaginative songs of the year.

Pop is doing great in the charts at the moment - would be great to see "1999" and "Sweet But Psycho" in the top 10 soon

It's funny how many religious people have misinterpreted the lyrics to GIAW and thinking she is actually saying that God Is A Woman...

Woah to the streams of thank you, next

1999 up to 15 :jump:

I don't get the love for Thursday... or really anything Jess Glynne has put out this era. Why does she not wear her make-up only on a Thursday? I started listening to the song but turned it off after the first minute or so

Every single track in the top 10 on Hot Hits is a female fronted pop song!
Muse don't deserve the #1 after releasing their worst songs of their career in the last months, they've totally lost it

Tbh, Pressure is my favourite song they've ever released. Thought Contagion and Something Human are brilliant too.

It technically is actually as Ella Eyre and Meghan Trainor are listed as co-lead artists.

yay for 1999 quite possibly the first Charli song I've really liked since her feature on 'Doing It' with Rita! 'Boys' was alright too. also glad to see Zara rising quick as well.

The jokes write themselves

Interested to see how much of a first week impact Fredo makes on his own now after 'Funky Friday'. Presumably at least top 40?

Wow! Gonna end up being her biggest ever UK hit!

I love Ariana she’s like my second fave female yet her UK #1s for me have all been her 3 weakest singles for me (I include thank u next as obv debuting there tomorrow). I genuinely thought NTLTC would’ve performed like this and that thank u, next would’ve been another God is a woman.
