I think the clue is in the title that makes it clear it wouldn’t have sold well mid year :P Also she generally would have needed to sell over 4,000 copies in one week to outdo #12.

Impossible Princess is BMG, Kylie Christmas is still Parlophone. Different teams so I don’t think the IP preorders will necessarily dictate how Kylie Christmas is handled.

I assume it would be like the Fever vinyl/cassette situation where it appeared on a separate website of hers, rather than her store page that Impossible Princess / Disco is being sold on, but we’ll see.

Urm hence it would be quirky for Kylie to realise an Xmas vinyl in a low week of sales and gain extra fun headlines. If you believe a limited run of Kylie Xmas Vinyl wouldn't sell in summer then you would be very wrong lol.

I ain't stupid! It was just an idea

It's fine if you believe that it could have sold well during summer 2022!

I can't really be "very wrong" about what I said though. I didn't say it wouldn't sell any copies in the summer. I said that it wouldn't have sold well - just my opinion.

Sure, she has a core fanbase that could have felt motivated to buy it at any time of year... but I don't think it would pick up many casual sales outside of Christmas. From a marketing point of view, I don't think "quirky to release a Christmas vinyl in the summer" outdoes "it makes business sense to release a Christmas vinyl when people want to listen to/purchase Christmas music".

Black vinyl with 10 prints

Overlooked this post earlier! Nice, I can't wait to order it! I wish they'd gone for another colour, such as red - standard black is a little boring - but at least it's getting repressed.

Looking back, this era was strangely handled. Although I actually really like 'Only You' (I think it's very pretty), I think launching a Christmas album off the back of it was a very odd choice. For starters it's not a Christmas song! Also having a duet with James Corden be the first song the public hears from your first Christmas album? Hmm. All in all I think that choice comes across like an underconfident move, like a suggestion that there wasn't enough faith in the original material.

Kylie really should have gone with an upbeat original Christmas song to lead the era, with a music video. Surely that would have given her more of a chance of achieving a staple Christmas song. Artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Sia managed this with their Christmas albums. 'Christmas Isn't Christmas 'Til You Get Here' or 'White December' were literally right there!

Although they kind of rectified this by choosing 'At Christmas' to launch the Snow Queen reissue... they didn't exactly put their all into trying to make that song happen. No music video? Then the silliness of using her X Factor slot to perform Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)... another non-Christmas song when the objective is to get the public to buy your Christmas album??

I get the feeling that BMG would have handled a Christmas album far better than Parlophone did.

Everybody’s Free on X Factor made no sense, even allowing for the fact it was being used in a Boots ad campaign.

At Christmas, whilst a saccharine bop, and would have worked much better.

It was strangely handed overall and I agree BMG would likely have done a better job. While the album was successful there was an opportunity to get it top 10 if handled better.

Christmas Isn't Christmas Til You Get Here

The one that got away. Should have been used more!

Yes!!!! It should have been the main promoted single.

I'm still waiting for that to get its use in an advert, it's made for it.

Ya looking back it should have been the song used more to push the album but hopefully someday it can get exposure through a tv add or tik tok.
I think KC done incredibly well tbh - Christmas albums aside from a few artists struggle and Kylie done well with it, hopefully the vinyl isn’t too limited and will return it to the charts for a week or two.

It was used in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special 2019….quite depressing that was almost three years ago…time flies.

I really wish this was released during the peak of the heatwave a few months ago :( Would've been really quirky and edgy and cool~ to buy it then and listen to it in the seering heat instead of during the Christmas period <_<

Is this a joke?

Strange how a simple idea and Kylie fans seem to attack any different form of opinion than there own.........

Oh well, i will continue to say what i think, at least i contribute here.

I wasn't attacking your opinion, I expressed that I disagreed with it. If you feel like it was an attack then I'm sorry about that.

However the nature of a forum is that if a person makes a post, then they're opening themselves up to be agreed or disagreed with.

When it comes to "Kylie Christmas should have released mid year, it would have got a new peak" I was just honest that this suggestion didn't make sense to me.

Anyway the fact of the matter is that this re-issue is coming out in November, so I look forward to ordering it. ^_^

I wish Parlophone had gone the extra mile to produce a Snow Queen Edition vinyl though. It would quite easily fit onto a double vinyl. 'At Christmas', 'Christmas Lights' and 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' are my favourite additions to the album.

Hoping that their price might suggest that the Amazon price will a bit lower than that. Amazon's price for Impossible Princess (£26.70) is quite a bit less than HMV's (£31.99). I'll hold out for it!

^^ I was going to hold out for Amazon but £22.99 was at the lower end of my price expectations with vinyl prices atm and thought I’d support HMV for once over Amazon.

If Amazon come in at around the £20 mark and if it’s not stupidly limited then it could pick up some decent casual sales :cheer:

I don’t understand the price variations for vinyl ha ha….maybe because it’s black vinyl….guess it’s not heavyweight vinyl either?
