what songs do you expect will really take off in the new year?

let's start with the obvious, 'Sweet But Psycho' will be top 10 by January.

I expect Billie Eilish will have a big year too, 'When The Party's Over' will set her up well for her next single to be a big top 10 and her album will do well.

Lewis Capaldi 'Grace' or Tom Grennan 'Found What I've Been Looking For' could be the big 'indie' hit of Q1. lovelytheband 'Broken' could potentially be a late crossover hit too as that's doing well in the US.

Rihanna to finally come back with new music next year and get a multi-week #1 too.

I bloody hope Broken does well over here, it's so good!

I predict The 1975 will have their first UK top 10 with their next album (and it might be a collab).

I think the Arctic Monkeys will release another album sometime next year, which will return to their indie rock sound, and headline Glasto 2020.

I think Nathan Dawe's Cheatin' and Kygo's Happy Now could potentially takeoff as well.

Tom Grennan’s “Found What I’ve Been Looking For” has already been re-released, and spent two week sun the T100 as a result; I really can’t see it coming back round a third time (at least not via R1’s support).

Dido will get a top 10 blink and you’ll miss it album when she should be huge.

The charts will continue to be awful.

Broken has only done very well on airplay in the US, doubt that it'd be any bigger streaming hit (if hit at all) in Europe.

Yes to Billie Eilish, Adele will return and Gaga release a new album. Can Madonna get some success too? The fado influences interest me.

Lauren Daigle’s “You Say” has serious hit potential and is currently climbing the itunes chart in the US. Could be big in 2019!
Ten Tonnes (George Ezra's brother) will have a hit single and album.

Wait, what?? He is George's brother??!! I never knew this :o

I hope Rina Sawayama is big next year, the future of bop imo

Wait, what?? He is George's brother??!! I never knew this :o

I'd been listening to both of them for a while before I knew they were brothers.

Ten Tonnes (and Sigrid) are supporting George on tour next year!

I'm going to have to rely on Twickets to stand a chance of seeing that.

I don't know about artists, but in terms of chart trends:

There may be more tech house and deep house hits in 2019 following the success of 'In My Mind' and also the popularity of producers such as Camelphat this year.

US urban music will still cross over a lot into the UK chart, there will be less UK urban hits though.

Sigala featuring Kylie Minogue maybe her next top 40 hit......

I can't see him pushing anything else from Brighter Days now tbh.

I'd like to be wrong though.

nah I reckon we'll continue to get a load of UK urban hits. it'll be a big year for Dave and Stormzy particularly.
