Hugh, Little Mix & P!nk were incredible.

So damn proud of LM and the amount they put into their performances!

The choreo in Little Mix’s performance was a career high. Pink’s arrangement was brilliant too.
Pink was amazing  I'm going to write a bit about it later on in the Pink forum. I've read nothing but good things about her performance too!
How come Tom Walker won the best breakthrough when Ella Mai has a top ten single and album in the US already? I can't at Brits loving their average white males...

It’s voted for by the public (Radio 1 listeners)

Am I alone in thinking the LM performance wasn’t that great (another style over substance one) and Pink’s being vocally great but the piecing together a bit jarring?

Errr, probably because that happened in the US? She's not even really known here in the UK.

The dancing was great but o thought the vocals were off at times, and for some reason could not stop thinking meg agriffin whilst watching it, still think their strictly performance was the bes of WLM live

Rant incoming. George Ezra's performance/win and Little Mix surprisingly winning an award usually reserved for 1D excluded, what an absolutely diabolical year. I've seen buttonhole conventions more exciting.

This ceremony used to be the site of such amazing sights as Jarvis v. Jacko-gate, Geri in a Union Jack dress, Geri then flying out of a giant pair of legs whilst pole dancing, Scissor Sisters with the Muppets, Mel C challenging Liam to a standoff, Robbie doing likewise, Brandon Block rocking up on stage for an award he quite patently hadn't won. Anything could happen and it made it unmissable.

Now? We have Pink delivering a medley of songs that quite patently aren't her best, Jack Whitehall being about as funny as the overgrown head boy he is, Hugh Jackman still being utterly unlikeable with that Redacted Showman nonsense, and Tom Walker winning a trophy on the strength of ONE SINGLE. And don't even get me started on The 1975 dude trying to be all 'I'm so woke, aren't I amazing' in their speech.

Call me an old codger if you must, but everything's just got so safe. Where's the excitement coming from?

I enjoyed all the performances, other than LM because I don't really like the song, but their choreo was good. I did think Jorja was a bit dull as well, she has so many better songs!

Pleasantly surprised by Jess as well, not my favourite song of hers, but I thought her vocals were better than usual yesterday. George, Calvin & co and The 1975 were standouts for me! Hugh Jackman was also very good.

I really like Jack Whitehall actually, I think he's done an absolutely marvellous job these past two years.

Certainly so much better than the truly loathsome James Corden ever did at any rate.

This was probably the least interesting BRITs I've ever watched. The only 'surprising' award winner was Tom Walker and that was a category where I really didn't care much about any of the nominees, I know these are always predictable but this year just took that to an extreme. I hate how much they glossed over the international awards, fair enough if they don't want to devote too much time to awards where the winners aren't there to accept but they couldn't even be bothered to make the introductory VT for the nominees and have someone properly announce them? At that rate they might as well scrap the awards entirely. Best International Group was a joke in particular, I had vaguely hoped that BROCKHAMPTON being the only one in attendance meant they might have had the smallest chance of being the one shock of the night but nope, they were barely even acknowledged and they instead gave the award to the one act on the list that's not even a proper group. And then following that very brief coverage of the international awards with an equally long segment on the utter bullshit of the Global Success Award that literally might as well have been copy and pasted from last year.

I didn't really care that much for any of the performances either, P!nk's was the best I guess but I was very disappointed at the song choices, her award was for her entire career so why was she sticking to such recent songs and ignoring all of her far more iconic older hits? I like 'Just Like Fire' but that made NO sense to be included in a hits medley, there were better choices even within the limited timeframe she covered!

On the bright side though I do think Jack Whitehall did the best he could to make this dullfest entertaining, I do quite like his hosting and his interviews with Shawn and Little Mix were gloriously awkward and probably the closest things to a memorable moment from the night. And it was kinda nice to see the producer award being acknowledged for once I guess (and Calvin finally winning a BRIT, can't believe he never had one before??)

And I'll probably still keep watching this even though it gets worse every year. xx

Matt Healy was on Radio 1 and was sat near Shawn Mendes. He said when it was announced Drake won Shawn said "Well, what am I doing here?" :P

I wouldn't be surprised if last night ends up being both Shawn's first and last BRITs. I didn't realise until reading Bray's post that BROCKHAMPTON were also there, so yeah it's a bit of a kick in the face to gloss over the International nominations like they did.
To be fair, Nile Rodgers & Chic also attended. I imagine if they were just going to give it to attended they would've got it rather than Brockhampton.

You did kinda imply that Shawn would win International Male because he attended. :kink:

What I'm saying though is that like Bray said, it's a bit shit that they couldn't be bothered to even prepare proper VTs for them, like with the other categories.

Oh definitely. However, at least it makes it seem like they don't just give the international awards to whoever turns up!

I imagine they just book performers based on who they choose, Drake, The Carters and Ariana were never going to turn up. I'm surprised Kendrick and Foo Fighters did last year though.
