I drifted from the charts when streaming came in but the chart of the year has always interested me. But this one is just too bizarre and it’ll only get worse.

December 28, 20187 yr Not necessarily if there is a bigger hit against her (Adele, Ed Sheeran, newer Ariana..) Also, Last Christmas might be even more popular that AIWFCIY next year. I think this year was Mariah's last ever chance to reach number 1 with AIWFCIY, no doubt further new rules to reduce the impact of Xmas songs will have been implemented next year.

I'm almost certain your mum has no idea Katy Perry has a new Christmas single or wanted to hear it when she asked Alexa to play Christmas music. It has been forced into the charts and for people to listen to it incidentally.
