Boris has apparently today given the EU an ultimatum. Either scrap the backstop or there'll be no further talks about a new deal. At last a PM who is getting tough with them. Maybe Trump's had a word in his ear. May was too soft with them. Trump told her to get tough and tell them in no uncertain terms what we wanted but she wouldn't listen and look where we are now.

A completely meaningless ultimatum. It's the UK seeking further talks, not the EU. This is just posturing by Johnson.

Anybody with a single functioning brain cell can see that a no-deal withdrawal will be far worse for the UK than it will be for the rest of the EU.

Imagine giving the people that gave you an ultimatum an ultimatum to give in to the wishes you yourself barely even know. Imagine thinking this'll work

Are you completely oblivious to the fact that whether it is by the 31st October or after we need to have a deal with the EU at some point?

Yes I know we do but we can leave with no deal first and then negotiate a deal. All this is the fault of the EU and to some extent May and the MP's. Boris is in no way to blame and we should thank our lucky stars that he's going to sort it out for us.

Yes, we could do that. There is one major problem. We would be far more desperate for a deal than the rest of the EU would be. Still, sovvrintee init.

Great so you greate panic in the markets and THEN try and negotiate a deal for the good of the economy. Maybe it is good you are out of work Chris, as you would not last 5 minutes in my role  You don't show your hand and then think you're going to get something better. It's pure naivety. Boris voted against Brexit and any deal he puts forward will just be a re-hashed version of the WA himself and most of the cabinet were so against 9 months ago. You've fallen for the PR machine big time. The only thing Boris is going to sort out is finding other people to blame apart from himself when we don't leave on the 31st October.

No, his advice to her was that she should SUE THE EU. I mean, he is an absolute f***ing MORON. Why would anyone listen to what he has to say?

And the worst thing about that is he's making me sound like I'm defending Theresa May. Ugh.

Advice from Donald Trump- a man who managed to go bankrupt running a CASINO, and would have more money now had he put the money he inherited in a very low interest bank account and done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Yeah, that sounds like a man who the UK government should really listen to...

Maybe because he's the most powerful man in the world at present.

He also told her to get tough and bet he's told Boris the same. He told her how he'd have done it.

Wasn’t Hitler once the most powerful man in the world?

He told her to sue the EU.

I don't know why I'm even bothering to engage with you here, you're just as much of a halfwit as he is.

Yes but he also told her to be tough in the negotiations and make it plain, as he would have, what we wanted and take no nonsense from them. If he'd been negotiating we'd have been out now with a great deal. May was far too soft with them.

How many great deals has Trump made so far? The square route of naff all is the answer. What the Brexiteers want is a complete fantasy.

In other news, soon to a Sheffield by-election and an easy seat for the Lib Dems to win back again.

If you want to succeed in life then do the opposite of what Trump suggests. The mans a whole ass toolbox short of a toolbox

Sorry Chris this isn't blojo being tough. This is blojo realising he can't get a deal after his election lies and is trying to pin the mess it causes on the eu. We had a deal. He voted against it. Then he voted for it. We have a strong bargaining hand while we are a member. Leave and the UK becomes a desperate beggar at the mercy of every country in the world. Most of the big deals that we need we will the needy party needing a quick trade deal. Every other big country can take their own sweet time cos the more we need a deal the better their deal and worse ours

You need real help, and soon.

Trump’s answer to everything is to sue the person/company/whatever

A reaction that reflects his attitude that he’s always in the right and the blame is apportioned epsewhere

He sees everything as a deal with winners vs losers - failing to realise that when people cooperate they can both become 'winners' and achieve more.

See: almost every aspect of life.

Anyway we are going off-topic somewhat.
