Posted January 3, 20196 yr Another year done and it's time to unveil the new Top 100 for the decade over the next 12 days and for the last time.......... The charts covered here are 16.01.10- 03.01.19 and the format will be: POSITION, TITLE, ARTIST, MOVEMENT THROUGH THE DECADE, SALES, TOTAL SALES (T/S) IF RELEASED PRE 2010. Thanks to Youtube, MW, Vidcapper, and some other sources!
January 3, 20196 yr Author We'll start tomorrow but here's what we've lost from last year! So we have just 4 "new" albums!
January 3, 20196 yr Love this countdown!! Not surprising the chart is heavily represented by the 2010-15 era, only 4 NEs!!
January 4, 20196 yr Author 100. HOME- Rudimental (78-83-89-95-100) 640,200 99. TURN IT UP- Pixie Lott (17-33-41-53-62-73-84-92-99) 649,600 (T/S 897,900) 98. TOGETHER- Alfie Boe & Michael Ball (93-98) 653,500 97. SEASONS OF MY SOUL- Rumer (36-36-43-54-61-71-82-90-97) 657,300 96. GREATEST HITS- Westlife (50-51-65-73-90-93-99-96) 660,300 Westlife are the real winners here with news of their reformation spurring nostalgia over their back catalogue it would appear. Few expected the bottom two to cling on for a further year but that’s the result of album sales continuing to dive! J9-Lwpgfd1E
January 4, 20196 yr Author 95. FOUR- One Direction (92-76-83-89-95) 660,800 94. RED- Taylor Swift (80-81-88-90-94-94) 668,300 93. THE THRILL OF IT ALL- Sam Smith (NEW) 672,900 92. HEAVEN- Rebecca Ferguson (60-39-48-59-67-77-86-92) 687,800 91. STAYING AT TAMARA’S- George Ezra (NEW) 691,300 Four new albums join the best selling list and two of them are here. Sam Smith sold the vast majority last year but had a nice top up of over 170,000 to lift his second album into the top 100 joining his debut set. George Ezra also places his second album in the big sellers though he does it in just 6 months- who says you can’t still shift albums. Meanwhile One Direction are just now one of two acts to have four albums on this rundown! syFZfO_wfMQ
January 4, 20196 yr Sad to see Palomas debut drop out her second and third albums should stlll both be on here :) Intrigued to see where Gaga is this time around and how high TGS can get.
January 4, 20196 yr Wonder if Staying at Tamaras can break the top 40 in next years chart? Also the Westlife GHs should continue to rise next year too!
January 4, 20196 yr I always look forward to this thread coming out. Hadn't realised the Westlife comeback announcement even had an impact this year. Nice to see a surprise climber (at least for me). Shame to see Biffy and Paloma fall out the top 100, though not surprised about Susan Boyle.
January 5, 20196 yr 675K for Sam Smith's album 2 is a bit of a let down compared to his debut even with the market shrinking always amazed that Pixie Lot managed a 3x Platinum album, and Rebeca Ferguson's Heaven did very well too
January 5, 20196 yr 675K for Sam Smith's album 2 is a bit of a let down compared to his debut even with the market shrinking always amazed that Pixie Lot managed a 3x Platinum album, and Rebeca Ferguson's Heaven did very well too It is a big downturn but still far better than many other artist second album slumps. Emeli Sande for example.
January 5, 20196 yr Author 90. A DECADE IN THE SUN- THE BEST OF- The Stereophonics (85-93-91-96-91-90) 694,700 (T/S 1,432,700 89. GHOST STORIES- Coldplay (77-77-79-85-89) 695,200 88. IF YOU WAIT- London Grammar (85-85-87-88-88) 699,200 87. OUTTA THIS WORLD- JLS (18-28-37-47-56-63-74-83-87) 701,400 86. NO MORE IDOLS- Chase & Status (43-44-49-58-64-75-82-86) 706,800 Not much happening in this section, Stereophonics prove the strength of their back catalogue as they move up a notch, and London Grammar prove a consistent seller pinning down the No 88 spot for a second year. January 5, 20196 yr Author 85. THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP 2- Eminem (91-74-82-85-87-85) 714,500 84. GREATEST HITS- Queen (NEW) 720,000 (T/S 5,238,000) 83. CAUSTIC LOVE- Paolo Nutini (75-68-72-80-83) 722,300 82. ONLY BY THE NIGHT- Kings Of Leon (31-44-50-60-66-78-78-84-82) 728,200 (T/S 2,988,400) 81. FALL TO GRACE- Paloma Faith (62-58-63-62-68-78-81) 730,900 Another new entry- for an album almost 40 years old! Yes Queen are back with their “Greatest Hits” album from 1981, note my total doesn’t include any sales from the triple collection of the GH sets. Anyway consistency is yet again the factor with the album being in the top 100 every week since December 2016 (110 weeks in total)! KOL’s “Only By The Night” will sell its 3 millionth copy sometime in 2019 and rises once again! and Eminem proves he can continue to shift old albums. Ijel4Vcqd9g
