Clearly Marvel likes to throw spammers at us. GIVE US A BREAK WE HAVEN’T EVEN HAD CAPTAIN MARVEL YET

Idk if this is supposed to take place before Infinity War or after End Game But all I know is that Jake Gyllenhaal is Mysterio and I’m SUPER STOKED for that.

Directors already confirmed it takes place right after Endgame months ago.

I have to say, despite enjoying the trailer, I’m slightly disappointed they weren’t a bit more ambiguous until closer to the time. I know it was inevitable and expected to a point, because they need to start marketing, but even Endgame itself still feels completely covered in mystery at this point (with Marvel keeping the rest of the Marvel slate a mystery still for this very reason).

So for them to be so causally ‘everything’s fine now, people are laughing, Thanos is no longer the threat, even Fury is back to life!’ feels like an odd move.

Interestingly Iron Man isn't in the trailer so we're still in the dark about whether he survives Endgame or not... I don't think he will.

Hopefully not! But yeah, I think most of the ‘alive’ avengers will die and all of the currently dusted ones will be fine.

Black Widow, Thor, Captain Marvel, Okeye and Ant-Man are the only ones I’d bank on surviving from that team.

I don't think it's giving much away at all. However, it was silly of MCU to announce that certain films had been given sequels etc..

Still excited for this, Gyllenhaal looks great! However, I'm not getting properly excited until after A4 haha.

The trailer looks incredible! It seems like it will be better than Homecoming for me personally.

This looks good but I’m wondering how much of the trailer is real and how much is an illusion created by Mysterio.
Should we watch the film if we haven't seen Endgame?
No. By the looks of it, watching Endgame beforehand is a must. It follows Endgame straight away.

This is absolutely hands down, by far, my film of the year.

Everything was brilliant: the jokes all landed, the chemistry between Zendaya & Tom Holland is electric and the other 2 relationships that form are hilarious and amazing. The plot was largely predictable but I was having so much fun I didn't care.

The mid-credit scene is also possibly the best MCU moment ever.

J.K. SIMMONS IS BACK PLAYING J JONAH JAMESON!!! :o

Great film. I loved all the illusions - reminded me of Scarecrow from Batman.

I agree about the predictable plot but it was perfectly executed. And I loved the mid and post credits scenes.

Watched this earlier, LOVE the movie so much. Way better than Homecoming and that was already in my Top 5 Marvel movies so this could easily be one of my favourites. Mysterio was a fantastic villain with just the right amount of twists, played brilliantly by Jake. Happy and May, MJ finding out about Spidey, fake Nick Fury, loved loved loved it all. The mid credits were hilarious and tragic at the same time

This was excellent, was really funny throughout and Tom Holland is so likeable (as well as gorgeous).

Probably my favourite superhero movie out of those I've seen (not really an Avengers fan - I've not even seen Endgame)

Great fun, though what are the chances that all of his significant classmates were blipped! I can accept a man getting bitten by a radioactive spider getting superpowers going into space disintegrating and coming back from the dead - but I can't accept those 6 or 7 all getting blipped  I did like how they used logic to mention some of the consequences of the fall-out of Endgame though.

The personal drama and humour touches and guest spots were the best bits, it took an hour to get going really, I was thinking 7 out of 10, then a bit 6/10, but overall it raised it's game to a solid 8/10. Tom is now 23 and getting fitter in every film - they really should have had him age 5 years. That goes for 23-year-old Zendaya too, I mean another 5 years of them in High School and we're in Grease "Olivia Newton-John at 30 playing a late teenager" territory. 1 more year and we're in John Travolta in Grease territory, they have to graduate and go to University in the next movie at the very least...

Sony and Disney have failed to agree on a new deal so Spider-Man in the MCU is no more. 2 new Tom Holland Sony movies are apparently on the way. ;)

I’m so annoyed at this. The mid-credit scene in this set up the perfect 3rd movie :(

I'm so confused about this.

So the two new Tom films won't have any wider MCU references? and the future avengers films will just ignore Peter Parker's existence?
