Ariana looks safe for crossing 100k then :o

When was the last time we had a single past 100k?

June 2017, 170,360 for 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.

For the last non-charity single, 'Despacito' in May-June 2017 did three weeks over 100k; 113,912 - 129,256 - 101,761

The 1975 have staged quite a recovery - I did say that would happen though!
Still top 65
and, in fact, top 30 as well.

The 1975 were always going to recover once Christmas was over and album sales had dropped significantly as they're more of a streaming act than many of the traditional Q4 album sellers, so I'm not surprised either.

Technically Mariah crossed 100K 'sales' too but let's not open that debate again.

What song is occupying #9 then? I agree that in ideal world both Russ & Mabel would be making the top 10.

Depending on how their BRITs performance goes, I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that it could be one of the first big albums for this year certainly.

Play is #9, there's basically no chance of that being pushed out.

Never did I think Mabel could pull off a Top 10 debut, especially after One Shot!
Not denying The 1975 had a pretty ugly fall, but the 82.2% decrease wasn't much worse than the 76.4% decrease of their previous album, which in chart positions was only 1-6. I knew the album would stick around and it'll have racked up a good sales total by the end of this year.
I also hope Calvin overtakes Sam. I don’t see why Sam is doing better than Calvin when Calvin has a bigger name on his song than Sam has and I thought R1 were done with Sam

This makes no sense, just because one artist is bigger than another doesn't mean they'll do better than the other by default :P

What made you think R1 were done with Sam?

Wish the occ counted album streams properly instead of

Allowing random streams from playlists in the album charts

Thats how Post Malone “sold” 300k albums or

How the 1975 are increasing, its cos they got lots of songs in

many playlists same as Rita, CB, Anne Marie, Drake

I imagine The 1975 is up this week due to their Graham Norton performance and they've been on their sold out UK arena tour.

The OCC very specifically have measures to prevent albums from racking up excessive streaming equivalent sales because of one or two big singles. It's one of the only things they actually did get right straight away with streaming.

It's not like all the big playlists are packed with dozens of Post Malone album tracks. A lot of people streamed his actual album.

I think 7 Rings will be #1 until Stormzy drops his lead single. I heard that it’s coming in late February. 7 Rings will have a huge boost when her album drops which will keep it going for a while.

"7 rings" is a very depressing way indeed to start the new year. Boooooooooring.
