Went for We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight
Downtown for me. Didn't care for it then, even less so nowadays!

'Downtown' for me too. Emma did a wonderful job. I think I actually prefer it to the original, because it's less shouty and alarming.

 

But they should've gone with 'Take Me To Another Town' as the lead single. It's absolute gold. And the video basically makes itself.

 

Don't mind WNGST as a song. It just needs four other girls in it!

I was torn between Crickets and Downtown.

 

Crickets it is. Just makes me think how it could've been No Sign of Life.

Downton is f***ing pish

'We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight' - Never saw the reason behind this, in its original album form it sounded fine but nothing special, just an okay album track, but the single remix made it sound much worse and effectively killed the campaign. There were much better choices on there 'A World Without You' or even 'High On Love', (I would have opted for the latter) and could have easily given her another solo top 10 hit and then could have had the other song in the early months of the following year and maybe help sales towards the album a little bit.

I don't think I'll ever understand what is supposed to be so bad about the Radio Mix of WNGST! Obviously I'm in the minority considering people weren't here for it in 2001 either lol. Oh well :kink:

 

I like High on Love & A World Without You, but I feel like both would have made the singles run seem a bit samey sounding if they'd directly followed on from Take My Breath Away.

My dream singles run from 'A Girl Like Me' would have been:

 

'What I Am'

'What Took You So Long'

'High On Love'

'Better Be Careful'

'A World Without You'
