Aww thanks Lex, pushing me back in the top ten and #8 is also a new position, so just got #6 and #2 for top tem positions to go.

Amazing to see the new peaks for East Rukahavian, Jupiterdonia and Tartford!! I'm bowled over by how well the latter did in particular :o Happy to see Persephonia and Quintessa in the top 10 also *.* Poor Thelonia, I really thought it was going to be their time for the top tier on this occasion but it wasn't meant to be.

YES DAN! What a fabulous winner, in fact the first time I've properly loved one in aaages (since Niceland last year). Finally breaking the 10m+ song curse & in style, I take back what I predicted last week! Persephonia completing a superb top 2.

 

A great contest for perennial underdogs Tartford & East Rukahavian too, enjoy the top 10s!

 

14th is a very strong finish for me, certainly didn't have it matching Hello E's position (thanks Harry for the other 18 :magic:). Grrr at still no top 10 for Thelonia but at least I did all I could myself to help it...

 

All my main faves did rather well this time although Beaverdonia is too low & Cadelicia well I was a bit off the mark with my prediction there but at least avoiding the bottom 10.

If I’m gonna be completely honest... I’m extremely disappointed in where I placed. :cry: This was a song that I was passionate about and I thought it was gonna give me a comeback but I’m just kinda feeling a bit disillusioned. Really was hoping for much better. Not sure where I’ll go from here but I’m still gonna bring passion as I always do.

I was amazed the first time I heard it, not only as an Avicii tribute but as a piece of music. I was originally planning to bring back Gareth Emery as my 75th anniversary entry to commemorate my last win but I just had to share this one instead when I found it. Thought there'd be a few big fans but I didn't expect it to actually go all the way so this is a wonderful surprise.

 

Anyway, here's what Thomas Bergerssen has to say about the track.

 

It’s fantastic to see how divided people are on this track! It was written in honor of the great Swedish musician Avicii, and I (Thomas) tried to stay true to the spirit of his EDM productions. Whether I was successful or not remains be be seen. Maybe I should check back here in a few years and see :)

 

The entire track was designed around Avicii’s musical personality and I would never change that, out of respect for him.

 

So here’s to an exceptional musician who we lost way too early, and to anyone struggling with depression and/or substance abuse. Let’s acknowledge their difficulties and offer our unwavering and relentless support!

 

I have a small voice through music, and I will use it any way I can to try and make a small difference in people’s lives, but we all have the capacity to change lives through our actions, thoughts, words, art and work - and that is a choice that benefits us all in the end.

Yayyy, I stayed 2nd :cheer: Was hoping there'd be a chance RFC could save my silver medal but turns out I didn't need that as I got some extremely rare New Lexico points as well anyway! Thanks both of you for a good ending *.*

 

Unlike my two previous second place finishes I can't be salty at all about this since a) it's a much bigger gap than the previous ones, b) this is an entry that I didn't actually think had any chance to be contending for the win anyway (whereas Jaymes Young and KOTA were both rare entries that I did have that feeling for) and c) I actually already have a couple of wins this time - happy to just take another runner up finish (my first time in the podium positions for nearly three and a half years, wew lad) and the opportunity to hopefully go 2 for 3 on the 50/50 AQs... (my planned entry might be one that needs it x)

 

Quickly double checking the scoreboard matches mine before commenting on anything else ~

Heyyy I'll take that, high enough to justify it not being a flop. I wasn't sure what to expect for this entry as I knew the artist was fairly well known but a six minute lo-fi song was always gonna be a bit of a risk so I saved it for an AQ, thanks for all who voted, especially Fljo, Lotunia, Utopia and Cumulonimbia for the high points *.

 

Largely great top 10, Persephonia is a great runner up and I'm so made up for Tartford and East Rukahavian in the top 10 in particular, would never have guessed it for either honestly (and I predicted them both to DNQ lol). ARGH at Thelonia not top 10 though, really thought this was the one :'(

Congratulations Dan. It's great to see a song more than ten minutes long with a bombastic production win the contest. I never thought that would happen. It's certainly one of my top 3 favourite BJSC winners. :cheer:
