May 22, 20196 yr So the Belarus jury vote is no more? I’m actually cackling though at this error because it’s EY who do the audit of the voting process and I work for a competitor firm. All we did was hand out the wrong envelope, not f*** up the entire contest voting
May 22, 20196 yr Not to mention it would have been Netherlands vs North Macedonia in the final seconds of the voting. Which of course wouldn’t have been as big a climax as it was obvious the latter wasn’t going to get a huge televote score.
May 22, 20196 yr Why change fake votes with new fake votes? This totally ruines my favourite moment of Eurovision 2019, when Norway beat Sweden and came top 5.

Any viewer could see that the Belarus jury voted for the complete opposite of everyone else, that really didn’t raise any eyebrows to them that the data might have been the wrong way round?
May 22, 20196 yr Looking on Wikipedia after this apparently there was also an issue with one of the Czech jurors voting in reverse in the semi-final which meant Poland should have qualified over Belarus. Not Eurovision having a BJSC esque scandal xx Omg I just saw this too. This is a mess. I love both Zena and Tulia but Poland deserved to qualify for sure! :(

Shame it won’t even get 1% of the publicity of our Oscars f*** up
May 22, 20196 yr Given the way the Belarus "jury vote" was calculated, I cannot understand how not a single person noticed the huge anomaly that was Israel's twelve points.
May 22, 20196 yr What an absolute dog's dinner and massive embarrassment for Israel hosting. But really, a representative vote from their Pot is neither here nor there. Belarus' jury should have been fully disqualified, with no jury vote from them and only televotes alone. In the past, jury votes have been used when televoting failed - so why can't the opposite be applied in this case? Really poor :nono: As for other jurors ranking incorrectly - they all get a clear brief, if they screw it up and their score has been accepted then that's just the way it is. The same thing happens in all competitions, you can't retrospectively 'change' your marks, who's to say said juror hasn't just seen the result and cried mistake? Edited May 22, 20196 yr by Jacky boy
May 23, 20196 yr The Ukraine/Russia conflict in 2017 were more controversial imo. When it comes to voting, this is probably the most controversial since Norway's voting in Eurovision 1964.
May 23, 20196 yr If Belarus jury votes had been disqualified altogether, they'd have been at a slight advantage of having the ability to receive points from all juries and then not give them out themselves. I think the best option would've been just to... not disqualify the jury. Or have backup jurors. How on earth are they going to sort out the DVD edition before it comes out... incorrect scoring, a different jury winner, and Madonna has also uploaded a video of her performances with re-dubbed vocals
May 23, 20196 yr They should have a couple of back up juries made up of people from a variety of countries in case any get disqualified. Though they have been making up San Marino's televote for years.
May 23, 20196 yr San Marino having a made up televote is a real joke, I don't get why they don't just double the scores given by the jury if there's really no way to get a legit televote from them.
May 23, 20196 yr lol I googled 'San Marino' to find out its population and I lowkey love how the first three results are of a takeaway with San Marino in the name, followed by people asking 'Why is San Marino a country?' And THEN come results about country facts!
May 23, 20196 yr At least it saved NORTH Macedonia the humiliation of being revealed last and having that 10 minute wait only to get 50 points from televoting. A joke anyway, and a joke its taken 5 DAYS LATER to resolve!!

A joke anyway, and a joke its taken 5 DAYS LATER to resolve!! At lease she would have taken it better than John Lundvik did (not that I blame him). Her reaction to the televote score was kind of sweet actually while it was tough to watch John’s reaction. Edited May 23, 20196 yr by cantthinkofaname
May 23, 20196 yr Author I can't see how they can't NOT reform the jury system next year, starting with an increase in jurors to at least 10-15. But very embarrassing for the EBU, it was obvious to everyone watching live on the night how dodgy the Belarusian vote was.

Especially given how one voter from Czechia voting incorrectly made it so that Poland should have qualified over Belarus. One juror should not hold that much power.
